... and upholding of, ethical standards (Atchinson, 2004) . According to the Williams Institute Ethics Awareness self-assessment tool, I found that my core belief is mainly inclined towards character; this is the belief that ethics and ethical decision making begins from within. With this tool in mind, I can determine whether or not my values are in agreement with, or in contrast to, the ethical principles followed by Kudler Fine Foods and how it would affect my performance if I were under its employ. My ethical perspective focuses on character traits such as honesty, virtue, integrity, and uprightness. In my opinion, and according to my test results, my belief is that an individual with good moral values will be more likely to make the right decisions for the betterment of the whole, or for the greater amount of people. Mere compliance with rules does not automatically make any person ethical unless it is supported by evidence of the individual’s continued effort to be, or become, a moral person. Part of the role of ethics in general is to help a person achieve a level of excellence; the character is more important than the action. I believe that ethical decision making and meeting social responsibilities would be almost effortless if the person running a company has good moral character to begin with. According to Locke (1991, p.291), a person’s values plays a direct role in their ability to make sound ethical business decisions; that if a person wasn’t pre-equipped with values...

...The story revolves around the main character, Scottie who is the detective in the film that has a fear of heights known as acrophobia and his relationships with Madeleine, who is the wife of Scottie’s class mate Gavin Elster, and Midge, Scottie’s old college friend. Hitchcock uses camera work such as profile shots of Madeleine and full shots of Midge to emphasize on the fact that even though one is secretive, she dictates the main character while the other is like an open book, yet she has no genuine power over him. Madeleine is beautiful and a glamorous woman who comes from a wealthy background. Scottie becomes attracted to her in the very first scene at Ernie’s restaurant. He watches her as she sits and walks out elegantly, while he is sitting in one corner. Hitchcock captures the scene with by taking a tracking shot of the restaurant to give the viewers the feeling of the romantic ambience. The tracking shot zooms out of Scottie to the other side of the room on Madeleine, whose back is facing the camera. This suggests that Hitchcock wants to continue with the theme of suspense throughout the movie, which is why he first takes shots of Madeleine’s back to the camera, followed by the profile shot from a distance. The profile shot is marked by a wooden doorway that frames Madeleine as if she is in the spot light, which she is for Scottie. The camera then zooms in for a close up shot of Madeleine’s profile. The sharp feature of the profile shot highlights her beauty and suggests...

...Values differ greatly across generations, cultures, genders, personalities, and many other factors (Robbins and Judge, 2010). Yet, Robbins and Judge stated, a person’s “[v]alues represent basic convictions that “a specific mode of conduct or endstate of existence is personally or socially preferable to an opposite or converse mode of conduct or end-state of existence” (p. 145). In fact, values are the foundation of a person’s understanding of the attitudes’ and motivation’s of others insomuch that his or her perceptions are influenced by the values he or she has (Robbins and Judge, 2011). Each person within an organization brings his or her own values to the organization, which contains individual interpretations of what is right and wrong implying a preference for certain behaviors and outcomes thereby influencing the attitudes and behaviors of an organization (Robbins and Judge, 2011). As noted by Yukl (2010), “[i]nfluence is the essence of leadership, and powerful leaders can have a substantial impact on the lives of followers and the fate of an organization” (p. 408). The personal values and ethics of the leaders of an organization often drive the values and ethical behavior of that organization (Yukl, 2010). Thus, it is paramount the values of organizational leaders are consistent and in line with the values of their organization (Yukl, 2010). Alignment of Personal and Organizational Values Our team researched and evaluated the organizational values and ethics of...

...revise for assignment #4 is the profile essay. In this particular essay, the objective of the writer was successfully interviewing and presenting a member of a community. A member is a small part of an identity to the community. The community I selected was the Pascua Yaqui Tribe, and the specific member was Daniel Vega, a director of the language and culture department. In revising this essay, I feel that a principal global factor that the paper lacked was organization. Organization is a key component that molds an essay. According to Rules for Writers, “these patterns (sometimes called methods of development) have different uses, depending on the writers subject and purpose” (35) explaining that it depends on the type of essay I am trying to convey to the audience. The essay was short of an appropriate organization as far as an outline. I went back to the basics and rewrote my topic sentences, as well as my support and details briefly. It provided me with a basic knowledge of exactly what my paper was going to look like and consist of. With this exercise, I was able to recognize the details and the evidence that belong to other sections of the essay. Since this is a profile essay, it contains a mix of organizations to utilize: description, narration and includes a slight bit of process. It relies on what you are including in the profile. With these organizations, I am able to combine the essence of their purposes, and create the profile that will exemplify these styles...

...Personality Profile Assessment Lorraine Walker CMGT/530- IT Organization Behavior August 25, 2013 Sherry Kersey Personality Profile Assessment Personality is a complex subject when it comes to individuals. How do can they be figured out, well there have been many studies to curette one’s personalities. Studies such as, DiSC Assessment, Real Myers-Briggs test, Jung Topology Test, and many more will give an personality assessment to help built character or just simply evaluate an individual characteristic. Jung Topology Test seemed to be fairly easy with its question but, the test seemed to be a little lengthily. These question were not long they just kept asking the same questions in roundabout way. When answering the questions there wore choices with the same answer but there were only two choices so it seemed as if the questions were tricky. Questions should be clear and cut straight so that there is no misunderstanding in the statement that it provides. Jung Topology Test judges a person in four stages and they are extravert, intuitive, thinking, and judging. This test show the percentage of how low or how high the participant is in each stage and then gives knowable information so that they will be able to judge and see if the personality fits their character. Jung topology Test also tells what career the personality type fit; it also has a test for marriage, and it even help build your career development (Kim Komando, 2013). Jung Topology Test seems to give a...

...CHAPTER I THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND Introduction Education is the action or process of educating or being educated. But being educated not only means that you have learned all the knowledge you may need to succeed in life. There are factors that define success, acquiring all the learning and knowledge we may need and of course having the right attitude and proper values in facing all the challenges that we may encounter in life. Family is the basic unit of the society, our first school, our first teacher where in we obtained the foundation of our learning. At our early age, our parents never taught us the figures of speech or even idioms; they never tell us the law of gravity or even the logic behind of the law of supply and demand; they did not teach us to find the x and y in math. Instead, the first thing they taught us is how to pray, kissing the hand of elders (Pagmamano) which is sign of being respectful and how to be good with others through giving (generosity). The family is the place where we can have the best learning and that is being a good person. Besides the family, the school is another social unit that gives values education among children. Parents entrust their children to the school to perform significant tasks of developing children's potential to prepare them for active participation in the future. The teacher is the most important element in the educational success of the child in school. But as the child grows in all aspects, changes occur...

...Americans at a Glance Lisa Williams MAN 2604 International Management November 16, 2014 Mr. McCaskill, Sr Dimensions of Organizational Culture Profile (OCP) Introduction This white paper describes a generalized cultural profile of me personally, as an American using the 8 criterions or 8 distinct values in a study conducted by Philip R. Harris and Robert T. Moran, which provides a basis of comparison with other cultures and, thus, suggests the likely differences in workplace behaviors. As an American, I feel justified in admitting that those who grow up in the United States are generally poorly prepared for cross-cultural relationships. Although from the lessons of this course, my experience and exposure of living locally within a different culture have held me in good stead throughout my career and personal life, parts of it were a struggle how an understanding of the local culture and business environment can give managers an advantage in competitive industries. Americans at a Glance It is relatively simple for Americans to pull together a descriptive profile of U.S. culture, even though regional and individual differences exist, because Americans know themselves and because researchers have thoroughly studied U.S. culture. The results of one such study by Harris and Moran, provides a basis of comparison with other cultures and, thus, suggests the likely differences in workplace behaviors. As generally understood, the culture of a society comprises the...
