As someone who does not play hockey it was hard for me to understand why this boy is so captivated by his sport. After reading a passage from the history museum’s website, a quote from the author about the town helped me to understand how important hockey was to the community by describing the tight knit society and time period. The story takes place in a small town in Quebec called Sainte-Justine, which has a population of approximately 2000 and is set during world war two.
