Firstly, Ms Riegel provides an example about the presidential debate between Richard Nixson and John F. Kennedy in 1960 to demonstrate the importance of body language. In this debate Nixson lost by a landslide in the poll of TV audience because of his improper body language such as his hands hidden behind the podium and perspiring, which expressed his uncomfortableness and a lack of confidence to be a president, even though he won the debate by a landslide in the poll of radio audience.
