The first newspaper headline reads, "Seahaven the top town". The headline is trying to convince Truman to stay, that Seahaven is the best town to live in. Other headlines like "Crack down on homeless" affects Truman. The homeless man was his dad, his dad came to see him and when people were told to move Truman away from his father, Truman went after him but couldn't catch up. The newspaper was trying to explained what happened, lying about who it was and trying to calm down Truman. The last head line was "Classified". This newspaper headline was trying to tell people, everything was ok and that every things going to go back to normal after the whole running away and getting caught.

He is saying the truth is a horrible place and that you should be lied to for the rest of your life. Living in Seahaven is a place where you could be free of all truth, and live a life you would want. But living a life you want without the truth is a bad place. Having that life sick. The truth is what most people live for. Having a fake family and friends that don't really care about you is a world you are settling for because your not getting what you want in the real world. That things aren't suppose to be like this for Truman. After remembering what Sylvia said, he starts to realize things are out of place. Truman is looking a old photos, he comes across a photo of Meryl and him on their weeding day. The photo shows that Meryl is crossing her fingers when kissing Truman. Crossing the fingers is a sign of lying. The next day Meryl is off to work and she asks Truman to wish her luck, Truman says, "I'll cross my fingers." Making Meryl thrown off, also saying that he's catching on to things. The last quote that is important is when Truman is leaving he is being told from Christof, "There's no more truth out there than there is in the world i created for you."
