...plan is regarding a social service that is helpful to the environment in reducing pollution in the atmosphere by planting saplings and making sure that they grow into big and health trees. It is important for me to mention that this is totally a non-profitable organization and the main motto is to give life to birds and animals as trees are considered to be a shelter to living beings. This organization is named as, ‘Tree God’. This name is inspired because a tree gives us life every second and everyday just as God does. Without trees, there is no life on Mother Earth. Plant trees to save the life of all living beings and mother earth. Save your lungs. Do not pollute the environment. If you do, this is what you will go through... Without a tree it is not possible for a human being to even survive for even a second as trees breathe in carbon dioxide that we release and breathe out oxygen that we inhale. This oxygen is very essential to human beings or any animal. The beauty about a tree is that, it absorbs poison that we release and gives us life by releasing oxygen in the air. It is very selfish on our part to not give importance to tree at all or not even bothered to think about mother earth that is suffering for all our ill causes. We humans are only cutting down trees only for a selfish motto which is nothing but a “LUXURY” and not even bothered about the remaining living creatures that consider tree as their...

...SECURITY AND COMMUNICATION NETWORKS Security Comm. Networks (2011) Published online in Wiley Online Library (wileyonlinelibrary.com). DOI: 10.1002/sec.299 SPECIAL ISSUE PAPER Attack Countermeasure Trees (ACT): towards unifying the constructs of attack and defense trees Arpan Roy* , Dong Seong Kim and Kishor S. Trivedi Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, Duke University, Durham, NC 27708, U.S.A. ABSTRACT Attack tree (AT) is one of the widely used non-state-space models for security analysis. The basic formalism of AT does not take into account defense mechanisms. Defense trees (DTs) have been developed to investigate the effect of defense mechanisms using measures such as attack cost, security investment cost, return on attack (ROA), and return on investment (ROI). DT, however, places defense mechanisms only at the leaf nodes and the corresponding ROI/ROA analysis does not incorporate the probabilities of attack. In attack response tree (ART), attack and response are both captured but ART suffers from the problem of state-space explosion, since solution of ART is obtained by means of a state-space model. In this paper, we present a novel attack tree paradigm called attack countermeasure tree (ACT) which avoids the generation and solution of a state-space model and takes into account attacks as well as countermeasures (in the form of detection and mitigation events). In ACT, detection and mitigation are allowed not just at the leaf node but also...

...THE LUNGS OF THE EARTH I Introduction : Forests are the lungs of the earth. Thus, we can see the importance of forest towards the living things as the forest contribute in supplying most of their needs, maintaining the world climate, and preventing catastrophic consequences to the environment. II Body : A. Forest and all living things complement each other as forests is important in supplying the needs of life. 1. Forest will produce oxygen and absorb the carbon dioxide. a) Oxygen released by the trees in the forest is the chemical gas that are very important to human and animal life.(Chrisz,2006) b) Trees absorb carbon dioxide in the air and replaced it with clean air to remove toxic gases that facilitate human and animal respiration. 2. Supply various kind of food. a) Forests serves as the largest supplier of food and herbal plants that are important to humans, animals and in the medical field.(Chinery,2001) 3. Provides different kind of wood for many purposes. a) Wood being used as fuel because it creates less smoke and burns longer. b) Teak wood is used as house building materials as well as in the furniture industry.(Col,2006) B. Another importance is in maintaining the world climate. 1. Decreased the thinning of ozone layers. a) Oxygen from trees is the main part of ozone creation that will protect earth from sunlight radiation and meteors fall.(Silverswan,2010) 2...

...Importance of trees Trees are really important in a human being’s life. Without them we, humans, can’t live. Although trees are important, they aren’t cared about and are used unwisely. Trees need to be saved and people should stop wasting paper and such so that we can save as much trees as we can. Trees have a lot of benefits which we should appreciate and care about. Starting off, trees provide the oxygen that we breathe. Without that oxygen, we won’t be able to live. If trees are the ones keeping us alive, shouldn’t we be thankful and help save them? Trees produce a lot of oxygen to keep us alive. “In one year an acre of mature trees can provide enough oxygen for 18 people” (TreePeople). This means that in one year, a bunch of fully developed trees can produce enough oxygen to keep 18 people alive. Trees help us live, so we should help them too. Second, tees help moderate the earth’s temperature. The shade from trees helps cool the earth’s temperature. (eco kids). Without the shades from the trees the earth would be a burning hell. It would be too hot to go outside. Those shades help maintain the temperature and cool it down. The trees do that by absorbing heat, and producing shade. This, again, is another reason we should be thankful to trees. Last but not least, trees provide us with an enormous amount of food that we need to survive. They provide us with food directly and indirectly. Directly, is when we eat fruits or vegetables. We get the fruits from the tree...

...Perfectly Preserved I attended the Big Morongo Valley Preserve on National Public Lands Day. My mom drove me to Morongo Valley on September 30, 2017. The rangers spoke to us about what I did to better the preserve. I chose to trim trees and clear walking paths. Two rangers explained how to properly trim trees to not harm plants. Trimming branches allows trees to grow healthy branches and leaves by the “removing of dead matter” (“Tree Trimming: Why It Is Important”). To successfully clear each path, the group of volunteers and I took five pairs of different shears, gloves, and tarps to place the clipped branches. Trees create a long lasting impression on people as well as “the effect of the mood” on the community (Evens, Erv “Trees of Strength”)....

...Background of the Study Paper comes from trees. In today’s electronic age, people are starting to consider going paperless. But there’s still a long way to go before we lose our dependence on this very important human product. From our newspapers to our paper wrappings, paper is still everywhere and most of them are ending up in our landfills creating a staggering amount of paper waste. There was a time when paper was a rare and precious commodity. Now it fills out planet. It was initially invented as a tool for communication, but today, paper is used more for packaging. To produce paper takes twice the energy used to produce a plastic bag. (Wikipedia: Environmental Impact of Paper) Have the things listed below ever crossed your mind? If not, let us share with you these interesting paper waste facts. We are so used to seeing products in their completed form that we seldom think of how they are made and what happens after we dispose of them. • Recycling 1 ton of paper saves around 682.5 gallons of oil, 26,500 liters of water and 17 trees. (www.id2.ca/downloads/eco-design-paper-facts.pdf) • 324 liters of water is used to make 1 kilogram of paper. (www.id2.ca/downloads/eco-design-paper-facts.pdf) • Lessening of paper waste usage was predicted due to the electronic revolution. It didn’t happen. Demand for paper is expected to double before 2030. (http://www.theworldcounts.com/stories/Paper-Waste-Facts) • 93% of paper comes from trees. ...Essay: Importance of Environmental Education There are many challenges faced by our government and ourselves in protecting our environment. Such challenges are caused by lack of discipline, greediness etc. The challenges that we are facing today to protect our natural resources are illegal loggers, deforestation projects, irresponsible disposal of wastes, careless use of products from natural resources, and other over produced products from natural resources. Hopefully if we will be able to stop this challenges we could be able to help preserve our environment. For me as a youth of this community, the importance of environmental education is that you will be able to learn about the things that can happen in an environment. You will learn about the cause and effect of such things in the environment when such people do certain activities. Also through environmental education, we will be able to know the importance of our environment. This will show how humans manage their behaviour and interaction with our environment. As a normal citizen of our country I could help protecting our environment in my own simple ways like : proper segregation of garbages, recycling things, help in community services, using paper instead of plastics for containers, and lastly by conserving energy. With proper disposal of garbage we can minimize the volume of wastes in our community thus helps us prevent air and water pollution. If we recycle things we could help in lessening the trees cut down...

...California State Route 99 is a highway here in California that is stretched along almost all the central valley. It passes through 15 cities and 8 counties. Route 99 starts at CA-36 near Red Bluff and ends at Interstate 5 junction south of Bakersfield. This Route is also known as the Golden State Highway. Although these basic facts are interesting, one fact about Route 99 I have related to my whole life. Where the Palm meets the Pine is a historical landmark here in California located between Fresno and Madera. Along Route 99, an odd pair of trees reside. A palm tree and a pine tree. Although no one knows how these trees originally came to be, many have assumed they marked the center of California. This assumption was later proven false....

...Read this essay on the Importance of Trees ! Plants are very important for us. They provide us fresh fruits, wood, natural herbs and many things of professional value. They are home to numerous wildlife, bugs and creatures. They provide colour to men and creatures. They prevent famine and cause rain fall. They help in verifying polluting the environment. They provide us fresh air to take in and play essential role in the process of CO2. So, we should increase forestation. Wood is the most effective product that trees provide us with. We use wooden often. Wood is used as petrol and wood. Wood is used to make furnishings. Wood is also used to lay the paths of the railways. Plants are excellent sources of therapeutic natural herbs, ribbons and raw materials for many sectors. We get resins, organic gum area, etc. from the trees. The bamboo sheets bedding is an essential wide range of shrub which develops in large quantity. It is of excellent professional value. It is found everywhere. It is used as building content to make short-term shed. It is an essential resource of protection for the poor and financially sluggish individuals. Bamboo is used to make pads, barrier, bag and various products of the crafts. Bamboo is used as raw content to make paper. Cane is another wide range of shrub which is used in many things. ...The first passage in the book Braiding Sweetgrass that stood out to me was within the first chapter. Kimmerer talked about how the scientific community remains baffled at how pecan trees appear to talk with one another. Pecan trees act as a collective unit and produce mast fruiting all at once. It is not just a few groves that yield a harvest, it is groves all over the state in an all or nothing display. While there a several theories that attempt to explain this phenomenon, researchers are unaware of what causes the mast fruiting. This passage stood out to me in particular since Kimmerer compared pecan trees to a family that looks out for one another. The trees communicate to one another to decide when the time was right to produce the pecans. If one tree fruits alone out of season, it will be easy for it to become picked off by hungry animals and the chances of the tree surviving become slim. The pecan...

...3 Ways to Improve Your Targeted Marketing with Analytics Introduction Targeted marketing is a simple concept, but a key element in a marketing strategy. The goal is to identify the potential customers who are most likely to buy what you are selling. Once you have identified this target group of people, you can focus your marketing efforts in their direction. This process could substantially decrease marketing costs. In this tutorial, you will use data from a Portuguese banking institution whose goal is to cut down on their telemarketing costs1. They want to call only the clients most likely to subscribe to a long-term deposit. By using modern data mining approaches (TreeNet, MARS, and RandomForests), you will build a model to successfully identify which customers to target and explore the characteristics of this market. Tutorial 1) Open SPM®: 1 [Moro et al., 2014] S. Moro, P. Cortez and P. Rita. A Data-Driven Approach to Predict the Success of Bank Telemarketing. Decision Support Systems, Elsevier, 62:22-31, June 2014 2) Click the folder shortcut to open a data file: 3) Locate bank.csv (or your chosen file name) and click Open. The Activity Window, pictured below, will appear: This file contains 41,188 records of telemarketing calls at the Portuguese bank. On the left side of the Activity Window, you can see the variables in the data file. These include attributes of the prospect (i.e. age, marital status, education), economic indicators (i...

At first he was just a child out of the village migrated to other places to be a successful entrepreneur in the field of fashion and so on. Started with he goes one destination truffula forest, the trees suitable for his product. His offense is cutting down trees called The Lorax (God Forest) who loved the environment to prevent forest god but got ignored warnings by Once- Ler. So he is bothered by The Lorax so got quiet life but after the events of Once-Ler saved in the forest, Once-Ler and the Lorax is a friend and he was allowed to use the Truffula trees to produce products with the condition that he not cut down trees because the Truffula trees will grow after being cut down. ...along with a trendline. I found these graphs particularly interesting. They provide a sense of of the build or arc of a concert and how these differ at each venue. For instance, venue A has a relative flat build which makes sense for a small indie bar. On the contrary venue B and C are night clubs and theier scatters imply a steeper build as the show progresses deeper into the set. #### Contextual Model Design The first model was performed by fitting only the contextual variables using a **Regression Tree**. Regression trees are a classification algorithm that works by recursively partitioning observations on the dependent variable into homogenous subgroups were observation on dependent variables have similar values, that is, the variability of the dependent variable is reduced within each subgroup. A branch ends when it reaches a size limit (set at the descretion of the data scientist) or when a split can't increase homogeneity. Regression trees are useful when there is a nonlinear relationship between predictors and dependent variables and have particular utility when faced with large feature sets since they have built in feature selection as predictors that maximimally increase homogeneity will be selected. The resulting tree model is displayed on slide 10. The results can be interpreted by following a branch through to the final node where the resulting prediction for the percentage of people singing along is presented. For example, if you were at a small venue...
