It was in the middle of the night. I turned on the TV. The news anchor was worked up about an escaped man from the insane asylum. He was thought to be armed and dangerous. A photo of the man showed on the screen. The escapee looked familiar. I had just seen him walking down the street the other day. Sandra, the neighbor had told me yesterday that a weird looking man came and knocked on her door to ask to use the phone and for a drink of water. He had gotten out just 30 minutes ago.
I went to go lock the door and arm the security system. As I got up I heard an eerie creaking of the wood floors, as I heard footsteps coming down the hall. I leave my room to check it out. I hear a voice coming from the kitchen. “Come in” the man voiced through the house.
I slowly snuck into the kitchen to see who it was. It was a man with a deformed face. He evilly grinned at me. I scream, then ask him who he is and what he wants. He doesn’t reply, and quickly gets a bandana. I try to take him down, but he is much stronger. He places the bandana over my head after stuffing my mouth with a sock. Later that morning, police gave up the search, and issued a statement telling citizens to keep their eyes open and report any sightings of the suspect to the police at once. In the afternoon a call to the 911 call center reported a sighting of the man near the pier. He was attempting to jump off the dock into the ocean. Police were dispatched immediately, along with mental health specialists. Mental health specialists were able to talk the man out of jumping off, and he was taken into police custody for questioning. The man immediately admitted to the crime, and was
