One of Target Corporation’s strengths is its multitude of product offerings. Target stores shopping categories include home décor, toys and apparel as well as grocery shopping. Super Targets also offer a full grocery line, including a bakery and deli, meat and produce selections. Other amenities include photo processing services, a pharmacy, a Food Avenue restaurant and at times a Starbucks. In addition to online shopping, Target.com offers customers the opportunity to purchase products from Target’s registry programs (Club Wedd, Target Baby and Target Lists). Target customers can also apply for a Target REDcard, which allows them to access information on programs such as Take Charge of Education. If one product area is not performing well, Target’s diverse basket of products will compensate for the low performer thus allowing Target to manage its risk.

Target exclusive brands are a strength to the corporation. Shoppers have to exclusively go to Target stores to purchase their favorite in house products. Target also has both private and national brands, which help to increase customer traffic in the stores. Target owns and oversees the company's private label products, including the grocery brands Archer Farms, Market Pantry, and Simply Balanced, Sutton & Dodge, its premium meat line, Threshold, its premium furniture line, and the electronics brand Trutech. Target issued a re-launch of the Target brand as "up & up" to include an expanded product selection and a new design. The up & up brand offers essential commodities including household, health care, beauty, baby, and personal care products. The national brands offered by the company include Eddie Bauer, ChefMate, C9, Cherokee, Kitchen Essentials, Liz Lange, Fieldcrest and Michael Graves Design.
