The story revolves around two loyal friends Amir and Hassan, who are desperate to win the local kite flying competition. But both boys’ lives change for good that same afternoon when something devastating happens to Hassan. This is ironic because Amir decides not to intervene to impress Baba, by bringing home the blue kite. But by not stopping Assef Amir becomes what Baba hates a coward who can’t stand up for himself and his morals, and unknowingly allows his own brother and fathers son to be raped.
