I constructed the letter A. The way I built my letter resembled an isoceles triangle. My letter has two sides that are the same length and two of base angles are the same in length. The definintion of an isoceles triangle is a triangle with two sides of equal length and two congruent base angles. The letter A I built and isoceles triangle are almost a perfect match.
Another geometry concept that connectes with my letter, A was an acute angle. An acute angle is an angle that is less than 90 degrees. The triangle inside the letter A I constructed has an acute angle. The triangle has 3 angles that are acute all are less than 90 degrees and will add up to 180 degrees.
The final concept I thought my letter connects with is parallel lines. The two lines in the center of the letter A are parallel to eachother, the two lines will never cross eachother or intersect. Parallel lines are lines in a plane that will not touch, cross, or intersect even when the lines are extended. The two lines in the center are not the only ones that are parallel to each other, the one line on top of my letter and the other thats on the bottom are also parallel. Those are the three geometry concepts I thought my letter connected with.
My first semester of geometry did not go as well as I would have liked it to go. I failed most of the tests and quizzes because I was not responsible and did not do the homework assigned and study the reviews given. Despite all my failures this semester I always went to the re-teaches and passed the retest. I learned alot of new things this semester and mastered some of the skills I did not really understand last year in algebra. My goals for the spring semester is to pass the tests and pass the class with a average higher than a 70. I know that this year it might have seemed like I got very lucky to pass, but next semester I will try my hardest and pass this class with a good average eventhough I absolutely hate math and anything math related.

...Alexus Harris January 26, 2010 History 114 2:00 - 2:30 p.m Willie Lynch Letter: The Making of a Slave In the first paragraph of the Willie Lynch Letter introduction, he started thanking the men of the colony of Virginia for inviting him to the bank of the James River. Mr. Lynch was making the men of the plantation think that, installing the chip into the slaves will make everything run easily. He also stated that if the chip were implant into the minds of slaves, Ancient Rome would envy us as black people. Personally, I think the only reason that the Ancient Rome will envy us as slaves, because we let a method of the chip control our mind, body, soul, values, and beliefs. Mr. Lynch also stated that negative differences are better then positive differences. Just think about it. Why? Would Distrust be better then Trust, this is setting our slaves up to be lynch in my eyes. As a slave, you want freedom so; you are going to want your master to trust you so that you can escape. Mr. Lynch finally, said that over time if you constantly used the method for one year, then slaves will already no what they are expecting to perform. In the paragraph “Let’s Make a Slave,” it was focusing on the process of man breaking and slave making. This means that installing the chip into our black men will allow them to become more of a servant that helps the white man lynch other slaves. It also focused on human nature, and slave nature. Human nature...

...Letter Dear Mr. President, Civic and political participation is important for citizens because everyone has the responsibility to stand up for what they believe in. Citizens in America enjoy writing letters to important leaders to receive informative feedback on their thoughts. Citizen’s words effect how the laws change in many ways, for example, by voting. Eleanor Roosevelt influenced change through speaking about civil rights. ER was committed to standing up for African American rights. She was so active in racial injustice that the FBI had a 4000 page dossier about ER pertaining to her civil rights activities. “J. Edgar Hoover, director of the FBI, even speculated that "Negro blood" inspired ER's perverse behavior.” “She was considered America's most influential First Lady, she started new paths for women and led the battle for social justice everywhere. Today she is still a powerful inspiration to leaders in both the civil rights and women's movements. Eleanor shattered the usual submissive mold that the role of the First Lady had traditionally been fashioned, and reshaped it around her own skills and her commitment to social reform. She gave a voice to people who did not have power.” Others benefit from ER’s actions by getting all the credit that she stood up for women and their rights. If it wasn’t for Eleanor’s contributions we women would not get all the credit that we deserve. Eleanor Roosevelt’s deserves a holiday that would celebrate her and all her hard...

...The Five Parts of a Personal Letter The 1st part is called the heading. It includes the writer’s complete address and the date that the letter was written. If your letter is full-block style (all flush against the left margin) then the heading and all other parts of the letter are flush left. In this style the paragraphs are not indented. This is how we will write our letters in class. Just so you know, many people write their letters semi-block style, which means that the heading and closing are tabbed to the middle of the paper and paragraphs are indented. The 2nd part of a personal letter is called the salutation. The salutation is the opening greeting in any letter. In most personal letters we start the salutation with “Dear (whatever the person’s name is).” The 3rd part of a personal letter is called the body. The body is the “letter” part of the letter. It includes all of the writer’s thoughts organized into paragraphs. The 4th part of a personal letter is called the closing. The closing includes the closing greeting followed by empty spaces or lines and then the writer’s typed or printed first and last name. In the closing greeting only the first word is capitalized. Some examples of good closing greetings are as follows: Yours truly; Sincerely; Friends forever; and Love. The 5th part of a personal letter is called the signature. The signature is signed in the space between the two parts of the closing. The signature should be written in cursive and...

...hanging out together. Lately I've been thinking about the way that we always compete with each other and it's really starting to get to me. I know that it's not always intentional, but it just seems like you enjoy getting into those little arguements that we seem to almost always come across. You and I have alot of the same personality traits, yet we also seem like total opposites at times. You are a really funny/crazy guy and that's why I like to hang out with you, but sometimes you really get to me and you push my buttons. Darin, you argue with me about the stupidest things and you always have to get the last word in. Sometimes I know that I'm really the one who's right, but I let you win just so that you'll shut up. Don't take this letter personal, I'm not trying to put you down, I just thought I'd bring it to your attention before it starts to affect our friendship. I don't want to keep my feelings and thoughts all bottled up inside me and I know you've been really busy lately, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to write it all down on paper. We have a really cool friendship and I don't want to continue to have these stupid competitions with you. You are probably one of the coolest, most unique guys I've ever met and I want to keep hanging out and doing normal guy stuff, but you have to be willing to make the effort too. Please try to bite your tongue when you think that you're about to disagree with my opinions and I'll do the same with you. I hope that you don't take this...

...Cornelius Dupree Jr. (born September 22, 1959) is an American who was declared innocent of a 1980 conviction for aggravated robbery, which was alleged to have been committed during a rape in 1979.[1] He had been paroled in July 2010, after serving 30 years of a 75-year prison sentence in Texas. Prosecutors cleared him of the crime after a test of his DNA profile did not match traces of semen evidence from the case.[2] Dupree, who had been represented by the Innocence Project, spent more time in prison in the state than any other inmate who had been exonerated by DNA evidence.[3] Rape and robbery caseEdit On November 23, 1979, a 26-year-old woman and a male companion became the victim of a carjacking after visiting a liquor store in Dallas, Texas.[4] The abductors drove the woman to a park nearby, where they raped her. The perpetrators decided not to kill her, but kept her rabbit fur coat. About two days later, two men were seen trying to sell the coat at a grocery store two miles away. The victims' car was found in the parking lot. Dupree and Anthony Massingill were arrested the following month because they resembled suspects from a different sexual assault and robbery case. However, Dupree did not match the description of the perpetrators of the November carjacking.[5] Trial and appeals The 26-year-old victim picked out Dupree and Massingill from a police lineup, but her male companion did not. Dupree was charged with armed robbery and rape, but was never tried on the rape...

Stephen Richard's actions are notably serious because he had knowledge of the wrongdoings and he was in a position to report it, but he chose not to. 2.Suppose you were placed in Stephen Richard’s position at Computer Associates and you were under pressure to extend the fiscal quarter. How would you handle the situation differently? What would be the expected consequences? If placed in Richard's position at Computer Associates (CA) and the pressures associated with his high-level, high-stress position, I would not have extended the fiscal quarters or knowingly "overlooked" or encouraged the backdating of contracts, regardless of the overwhelming pressures by the analyst community which he writes about in his letter. ...The Letter “Never,” I protested “never, never, never” this morning my parents had received a letter from Brookside Boarding School for Girls and I had got the post… I was sitting at the breakfast table, staring into my cereal, thinking about the coming day, when the post rattled through the letter box. “Annabelle dear, go get the post please” my mum shouted from upstairs. This was the usual routine I’d wake up jump in the shower then go downstairs to eat breakfast alone. My parents both ran businesses and were generally ‘too busy’ to eat breakfast with me. I got the post and began flicking through it. Bills, bills and more bills, there a birthday card addressed to dad, probably from Aunt Christine who always sent them 2 months early and then at the bottom of the pile was a brown envelope with Brookside Boarding School for Girls stamped in the middle. I stopped, were they really sending me too a boarding school. A school with no friends where would share a room with strangers. The thought of it made me shudder as I imagined losing my huge room and walking wardrobe. I’d seen the girls from Brookside coming home twice a year, dressed in grey knee length skirts and blue blazers, their long hair tied in neat buns. Was I really that much of a burden to them that they felt the need to lock me in a boarding school. By then my mum was downstairs she saw the letter in my hand and her mouth opened to explain. I waited but no words came out, instead she stood there frozen staring at me...

...RUNNING HEAD: BAYEUX TAPESTRY LETTER 1 “ Bayeux Tapestry Letter” Tara Brown Professor Dr. Gavin HUM 111-World Cultures I December 3, 2012 This letter was instructed and taught by Professor Dr. Gavin. Dear Brown Family, The Bayeux Tapestry was one of the most unforgettable and successful encounters that I have joined in as Bishop Odo. Odo’s father was Herluin, Viscount of Conteville and Odo’s mother was Herleva whom was the mother of the Duke of Normandy. When he was only nineteen years old, William made him the Bishop of Bayeux where he built a cathedral there. He was the architect who commanded the Bayeux Tapestry. This 230-foot-long, 20-inch high embroidery was one of the most fascinating narratives commissioned by Odo. The entourage of Bishop Odo of Bayeux has successful entrepreneurs and talented scholars. It based on two groups of men who owed his triumph to his support: those who clenched the land from him in his earldom of Kent and persons whose legendary education he nurtured. At the Battle of Hastings, immediately after the English have prevented...

...Hello. Yes, you. The very person who wandered, perhaps by misfortune, into this forum, this website, this collection of my innermost thoughts. How does it feel to look into the mind of a delusional sociopath? It matters very little however to me, what you think or what you may think. I’m afraid I’m well past the point where I am entangled by the ripples of human lives, the cacophony that all living things leave in their wake. I am well past comprehension by the living and I’m at crossroads, with one side awaiting my wake whereas the other extending its bony fingers towards me, with cold acceptance. The dead harbor no grudges and my deeds or my name matter naught when the shadow beckons. I am dying. Not my physical body though. My body is quite hale and healthy and as the God of time walks on, it seems to be filling with new vigor, a new sense of power. Arts I learnt long ago are finding their way back to my flesh and the body remembers what the mind cast into oblivion. Slowly, the muscles of my legs strain to regain their former composure and I find myself giving into my body’s furious demand of both exercise and food. I am no glutton, yet I eat as if it were the first meal I have eaten in a long long time. In its own way, it shows me how my soul is fast dying, as it hungers to replenish itself. For it cannot partake the feast of affection, it turns to drive me to consume what men have to offer. Soon, I shall reach the point when I transcend hunger, eating merely for...
