On page 53 as it was said, “‘Run, Percy!’ she told me, ‘I can’t go any further. Run!’” This shows sacrifice and bravery at the same time because she faced her fears of dying and went to attempt to halt the monsters advance long enough so that Percy can go to safety. Also, it said on page 352, it showed Percy offering to solve all her problems, but his mother refusing to take his help and saying that she will solve her own problems even though Gabe was abusing her. “‘I can’t let a god take care of me…or my son.’” Lastly, it said on page 37-38 that she is rebellious, “Even after marrying Gabe, she has kept her maiden name “Jackson”. She was told by Gabe that Blue foods don’t exist. She causes a point of finding things like blue corn chips and blue candy.” This shows her being an insurgent and violates Gabe.
