The second reading for The Macho Paradox, by Jackson Katz (2006) further explains how media plays a role in rapes against women. This section shows how music artists, commercials, television, and movies, all contribute to societal norms for men, and thus are contributing to men raping women. Personally, the most significant point in this reading was that some women are even convinced that their role as a female is to be sexual. Not to say that women are okay with being raped, but more that society is causing them to think that being sexual is what women were created to be. As Katz (2006) puts it, “Our culture relentlessly assaults girls and women, with the idea that femininity and sexuality are intertwined: that their bodies and their sexual

Alongside this there has been increased anxiety about both the scale and impact of bullying in schools (Cawson et al, 2002; Tyler, 2002). These issues form part of a more generalised concern about men and boys in Britain often referred to as a ‘crisis of masculinity’ (see Clare, 2000). Lease, Norwich University Abstract This paper presents an analytical and comparative study of four recent corporate scandals involving organizations that had previously been recognized as both ethically and organizationally sound. Based on these case studies, the following issues are discussed: (1) The role of leader behavior and organizational/leadership styles in shaping the corporate organizational culture of an organization, and (2) The extent to which this culture renders the organization and its members (including the top executives) prone to ethical misbehavior. The four companies selected for this case analysis are: Enron Corporation, WorldCom, Inc., Tyco International, Ltd., and HealthSouth Corporation. Each case is considered individually. The basic elements in the scandal are outlined and the principal aspects of each organization’s corporate culture discussed, with special emphasis on the influence of leadership styles and leadership behavior/practices on organizational culture.
