The Most Influential Founding Framer: John Hancock

We believe that the greatest and most influential founding framer is John Hancock. John Hancock was the first person to sign the Declaration of Independence and has the largest signature on it. By signing the Declaration of Independence he acknowledged the fact that if caught he would be committing treason against the British Crowne. He also proposed that we should include a Bill of Rights in the constitution. John Hancock was a generous guy, he often donated money to Churches, Organizations, and Schools. Not only did he give money to the less fortunate but he risked his fortune to support American Independence by raising money, gathering troops and organizing naval forces. Finally after the Boston Massacre of 1770 John Hancock met with Governor
