Extroversion would be the desirable personality characteristic out of the 5 for my company. An extroverted person tends to be very outgoing, energetic, enthusiastic, sociable and talkative. This is key for our business because we need someone who is going to be able to work deals, help sell our business. They need to be able to negotiate and communicate with the business we’re cooperating with in order to figure out the scheduling and discuss contract deals. I will use the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator in order to assess my applicant’s characteristics. It is a widely used test that is very good at measuring introversion and extroversion, which is perfect for what I will be looking for. There are also sub classifications such as Sensation-Intuition, Thinking-Feeling, and Judgment-Perception. Sensation people are more prone to realism and rely on the facts and do not look as much into theories, they live in the here-and-now and use facts to find a solution. They trust experience first, and trust words and symbols less. Intuitive people tend to focus on the larger picture and theories to base their problem solving. They like to try out new things even if previous ideas have worked, they will look for any possibility to solve a problem. The Thinking subcategory is the people who look for logical explanations and make decisions with their head. They don’t value the “people” part of the solution and can be considered uncaring because they worry more about the solution rather than the way someone is feeling. This is different than the Feeling people who look for what is important for others before they make their decisions. They make decisions with their heart rather than their head. They will avoid confrontation if it helps protect another person. The fourth category is the Judging-Perceiving personalities. Judging are people who are organized and like to get work done before they do anything else. They are task oriented, …show more content…
They are take-charge people who value competence and efficiency. They are confident, and are good at making plans and systems for actions to see what can be done in order to complete a specific task. They feel obligated to put forth a lot of effort in anything that they do, especially their jobs. They are conscientious, practical, realistic, and dependable. They are hard workers who can focus on the task, set a plan and get the job
