From going to the “little black boy with the weird name”, to the very first black president of the United States, Barack Obama is making history. “The New New Deal” which is a book written by Michael Grunwald goes into great detail of Obama before presidency and during presidency. I believe that this book is somewhat uninteresting, but very informative and it would be great for someone interested in Obama’s acts as the president. The book was published in 2012 in New York, NY by Simon & Schuster, Inc. Michael Grunwald, the author, presents many facts throughout the book and he also expresses his opinions on certain things. “The New New Deal” shows how Obama’s acts and plans as president were a success.
The author in the beginning of the book …show more content…
It used tons and tons of money and Barack Obama’s administration had to make sure that the money was being used for the right thing. Joe Biden, the vice president, saw a need for someone to take the job for watching over the stimulus. Biden wrote about how someone needed to watch over Obama’s stimulus, to focus on deadlines, to not waste money and if something went wrong to address Obama with the problem. Joe Biden took the job to watch over the stimulus and it took nearly two years to make sure that the stimulus did not fail. Joe Biden oversaw the stimulus and if something went wrong he took control.
The stimulus supposedly created tons and tons of jobs for Americans, and economists said the unemployment rate dropped by several points. People did not believe that the stimulus had created a huge number of jobs. This is an example of how fraud was trying to eat away at the Obama administration. In the 2010 elections, politicians were not favoring the stimulus. All of the Republicans that were running did not approve of the stimulus, and most of the democrats did not approve of it either. The goal of the stimulus was to improve life for

This frame also provide us an angle to organize an better organization. Like what is the author telling us in the text book “These supposition reflect confidence in rationality and a faith that a suitable array of formal roles and responsibilities will minimized distracting personal static and maximize people’s performance on the job”(Bolman & Deal. p. 43). An good organization should be like an accurate machine, every kind of organizations should find the most effective structure for its self. Ms Paul

...Bible Among the Myths Malcom College English 093 Ms. Smith 01/23/2012 Introduction The book is an analysis of the Biblical view of the world and compares it other works in the Ancient Near East of that time with the development of the Bible. This is done by an in-depth analysis of the underlying beliefs inherent in mythology and the Biblical text. Of primary significance is the author's portrayal of the Biblical insistence on monotheism and divine transcendence compared to the polytheistic underpinnings of mythology. The author compares the ethically based Biblical view of the divine/human relationship with the ritualistic and magical view of that relationship found in mythology. With these and other comparisons (and with due consideration given to the various similarities between Israel and her neighbors), the author gives an excellent overview of the subject matter of the thought. In The Bible Among the Myths,Oswalt takes the conversation further by illuminating the fact that Israel's faith couldn’t have simply evolved out of nowhere. Oswalt shows that the surrounding Ancient Near East cultures had a worldview known as Continuity. This view maintained that all things that exist are a part of each other (such as the gods, nature, and humanity), the existence of polytheism, that the gods could be manipulated through nature and natural artifacts(which was the point of idol worship), the significance of magic, the obsession with fertility which led to sexual...

...Master Guides Summaries Desire of Ages Summary – Christopher Pennerman The book The Desire of Ages was a book about the life and death of Jesus Christ written by Ellen G. White. It contains 87 chapters in total. Chapter 1 “God With Us”, talks about The Father and Son covenanted‖ together to save fallen mankind, and answers the question was their plan conceived before or after the fall of man. It then goes on to talk about the importance that Christ had in becoming human. Next in chapter 2 “The Chosen People”, is based on Genesis 12:1-3, where it talks about Israel failing to be a blessing to the nations. It then goes on to explain about how you can be a blessing to your community. Chapters 10-12 go on to talk about Christ Baptism straight to his Temptations. Two chapters that caught my attention were Chapter 7 “As a child” and Chapter 8 “Passover Visit”. Chapter 7 talks about the growth of Jesus Christ. Jesus did not have the privilege of going to school but his mother was his first teacher, he also studied the law of God. He had powers and he never abused the power to ease his work as a carpenter. He glorified God in all circumstances; Jesus lived a holy life even though he dwelt in Nazareth a place filled with temptation and other vices. He learnt from nature. He acknowledge God as his father, he also knew that they was time was everything “he said, "I must work the works of Him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.”. Using Information

...making takes place within the guidelines set by the strategic plan. Data and information Tactical information will be mostly internal with a few external sources being used. Internal information is likely to be function related: for example, how much ‘down time’ a production line must allocate for planned maintenance. Tactical information is used by middle management (employees) when managing or planning projects. The timescale is usually at least between 6 months and 5 years (depending on the scale of the strategic project). Circumstances vary but a small project may have a tactical timescale of between one and six months. Tactical plans have a medium level of detail and will be very specific; they deal with such matters as who is doing what and within what specific budgets and timescales. These plans have medium scope and will address details at the operational level. They will generally have specific objectives and be geared towards implementation by operational level employees. Operational information The lowest level is operational and operational planning takes place based on the tactical plans. The lowest level of management or workers in an organisation implements operational plans. These may be section leaders or foremen in a large organisation or workers such as shop assistants, waiting staff, and kitchen staff, etc., in smaller businesses where there is no supervisory layer. The timescale is usually very short, anything from immediately...

How to Win Friends

...millionaire mindset club essential book summaries HOW TO WIN FRIENDS AND INFLUENCE PEOPLE by Dale Carnegie INTRODUCTION When Dale Carnegie first sat down to write How to Win Friends and Influence People he really didn’t realize exactly what a best seller it would be, nor did he realize that over 70 years later it would still be in print - and be acclaimed as ‘the best all time’ self-help book in the world. The book was first published in 1937 and was developed from the real life experiences of hundreds of people, rather than from just one person’s opinions. The idea for the book was brought about by the results of an investigation conducted by the Carnegie Foundation that was carried out to determine how people became financially successful. The investigation found that success took only fifteen percent of actual technical knowledge, and that the actual key to success rested on the other eighty five percent. This eighty five percent was identified as possessing skills in human engineering: the ability to get on with others well, your individual outlook and people skills. These results came as a shock to many at the time as these skills were not widely taught in courses or classes. A new concept had been discovered and a large hole emerged that needed to be filled by a new peopled-skilled class. This is how the Dale Carnegie Course In Effective Speaking and Human Relations was born – and the book a mere set of ideas on memo cards which were discussed and lectured on. These...
