With its balanced mix of urbanity, natural beauty and history it is considered as the most accessible vacation getaway and refuge for those seeking a quiet life far from the bustling Manila metropolis. Cavite is a coastal province situated approximately 9 miles (30 kilometers) south of Manila. It is composed of 20 municipalities and 3 key cities – Trece Martires City (provincial capital), Tagaytay City and Cavite City. The geography of the province varies differently, from flat and coastal in the north and west, to mountainous and hilly in the south and east. Its close proximity to the capital makes it highly urbanized especially in the low-lying municipalities of Bacoor, Imus, Dasmarinas, Kawit, Cavite City, and General Trias where various industries thrive. ...advantage. Low barrier to entry We live near a Costco and a Sam's, and the Costco is better in many many ways. And you can use a debit card there. And I personally won't support the WalMart empire, so that's another negative on Sam's for me (and we need not go there as that has been discussed to death in this forum as well). I just like the service better at Costco, layout, selection, etc. We seem to have a thread about this every other week...LOL. It really depends on what you buy, how often you want to go...I think the key, is to know what you pay elsewhere. So get a day pass to the club you're interested in, go in and check out the prices and see if it's something that would be worth it to you and your family. I agree with Oregano. You can usually at least get into the clubs on a visitors pass so use that opportunity to check their prices/selection on things you...

Diabetes Awareness: Signs, Symptoms and, Prevention and Nutrition

...HUN1201 Principles of Nutrition 04/20/2014 Diabetes Awareness: Signs, Symptoms and, Prevention and Nutrition As a very young child, I grew up watching my mom struggle with her diet every day. She suffered from diabetes and was forced to keep a constant watch over every single morsel of food she put in her mouth. Over the years began to understand much more about the complexities of my mother’s disease and how vital it was for her to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. As the disease progressed, my mother was forced to introduce now and more invasive methods to manage her disorder, including insulin shots twice daily. Despite all of her efforts to keep her disease in control, my mother lost her battle at the horrifyingly young age of 47.Watching her fight so bravely against sometimes that she eventually would have no control over was a tremendous inspiration to me. My mother’s journey is the reason that I have decided to come up with a healthy balanced diet for an individual who is diagnosed with diabetes. My hope is that I can educate diabetes about their disease and maybe give them more precious time with their loved ones that I had with mine. Diabetes mellitus, more commonly called simply diabetes, is a group of metabolic diseases. People afflicted with this disease have high blood sugar, either because their body does not produce enough insulin, or because the body's cells do not respond to the insulin that is produced. Insulin is...

Bank of America: Too Crooked to Fail

...At least Bank of America got its name right. The ultimate Too Big to Fail bank really is America, a hypergluttonous ward of the state whose limitless fraud and criminal conspiracies we'll all be paying for until the end of time. Did you hear about the plot to rig global interest rates? The $137 million fine for bilking needy schools and cities? The ingenious plan to suck multiple fees out of the unemployment checks of jobless workers? Take your eyes off them for 10 seconds and guaranteed, they'll be into some shit again: This bank is like the world's worst-behaved teenager, taking your car and running over kittens and fire hydrants on the way to Vegas for the weekend, maxing out your credit cards in the three days you spend at your aunt's funeral. They're out of control, yet they'll never do time or go out of business, because the government remains creepily committed to their survival, like overindulgent parents who refuse to believe their 40-year-old live-at-home son could possibly be responsible for those dead hookers in the backyard. It's been four years since the government, in the name of preventing a depression, saved this megabank from ruin by pumping $45 billion of taxpayer money into its arm. Since then, the Obama administration has looked the other way as the bank committed an astonishing variety of crimes – some elaborate and brilliant in their conception, some so crude that they'd be beneath your average street thug. Bank of America has systematically ripped off...

Domino's Pizza

...August 22, 2011, John Macksood, executive vice president for supply chain services at Domino’s Pizza, Inc. (Domino’s), was reading the daily headlines while sitting in his office at the Domino’s World Resource Center, the company’s global headquarters in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Domino’s was the world’s second-largest pizza company and the largest pizza delivery quick-serve restaurant (QSR) chain. One item in particular jumped out at Macksood. An article, titled “Quiznos chain faces tough finance issues,” indicated that Denver-based Quiznos, a privately owned QSR sandwich company with 4,000 U.S. stores, was nearing bankruptcy due to “sharpening competition, waning sales, and debt woes.”1 One of the problems cited was Quiznos’ “protracted battle” with its franchisees over operating costs and profitability, with some franchisees blaming low or nonexistent store profit margins on Quiznos’ requirement that they buy food at “allegedly above-market prices from a Quiznos-mandated supplier network.”2 Analysts also blamed Quiznos’ problems on rising commodity prices, which had dramatically increased the cost of raw ingredients. As Macksood finished reading the article, he felt proud to have been part of a team at Domino’s that had proactively...

Onehundredyearsofsolitude

...Gabriel Garcia Marquez One Hundred Years of Solitude Chapter 1 MANY YEARS LATER as he faced the firing squad, Colonel Aureliano Buendía was to remember that distant afternoon when his father took him to discover ice. At that time Macondo was a village of twenty adobe houses, built on the bank of a river of clear water that ran along a bed of polished stones, which were white and enormous, like prehistoric eggs. The world was so recent that many things lacked names, and in order to indicate them it was necessary to point. Every year during the month of March a family of ragged gypsies would set up their tents near the village, and with a great uproar of pipes and kettledrums they would display new inventions. First they brought the magnet. A heavy gypsy with an untamed beard and sparrow hands, who introduced himself as Melquíades, put on a bold public demonstration of what he himself called the eighth wonder of the learned al-chemists of Macedonia. He went from house to house dragging two metal ingots and everybody was amazed to see pots, pans, tongs, and braziers tumble down from their places and beams creak from the desperation of nails and screws trying to emerge, and even objects that had been lost for a long time appeared from where they had been searched for most and went dragging along in turbulent confusion behind Melquíades’ magical irons. “Things have a life of their own,” the gypsy proclaimed with a harsh accent. “It’s simply a matter of waking up their souls.” José...
