Profile: An Event to Remember I will set the scene a little for you. Try not to get lost as to the true event that is the main focus. This event took place November 27th 2012. It was a perfect Thanksgiving in the Heiner home. The whole family had made it this year, and joy was evident on the faces of all in attendance. Anticipation was in the air for five o clock to arrive, because this was the set time for the feasting hour! Eventually the old clock chimed and the time came to take their seats around the beautifully arranged, and may I add a surely delicious smelling meal. Each was eager to get their knife into that juicy turkey that was cooked according to a family favorite recipe. Little did they know that this perfect day would come to …show more content…
As a distraction the family headed out to see the latest movie but this time all but two joined the festivities. Around nine o clock is where the main event of the evening began to unfold. The Grandpa began to finally speak. Since eating dinner he had gotten progressively more silent until he could contain it no more. He began by crying, and immediately his wife knew this meant something was really wrong. She had learned, during their time of being married, that he had a high pain tolerance and would not verbalize when he hurt until it got to an extreme. This worried her the most. Then he told her she would have to drive him to the emergency room, she had a feeling that this was not going to be a quick …show more content…
Having finally arrived at the emergency room he was quickly taken to a room and several doctors came rushing in to see what they could do. Within seconds it became clear that they were not prepared with the equipment or knowledge to help this man. Again on the road he was taken to the hospital in the nearest city. His wife also again on the road, only this time alone to assume the worst, rushed home to get some belongings for the trip then headed out with a heavy heart and mind for her long silent drive. When she arrived she was informed that her husband was stabilized for now and was being life-lighted to Salt Lake City which was the hour drive back home and three hours beyond. Now long after mid-night, tired, worried, and not comfortable driving alone in a big city she bravely headed out.
Meanwhile her husband had a terrible relapse. He had felt good enough to sit up and ask the diagnosis and was only conscious enough to hear the simple answer that he had suffered a massive heart attack and was in danger of following heart attacks. He fell back and began to feel the same pain that had brought him to tears earlier. As the pain worsened he laid back and allowed the medics to do their job ever praying that he would be able to find relief from the pain and see his wife again
