However, the problem that happened in Florida was the simple fact that few people understood how this type of ballot worked and that not all of the punch holes actually ended up matching up with the candidate that people wanted to vote for. Which they have tried several other times since then, I am confused in the aspect of why people want it to stick around. It is a form of racial discrimination and in my opinion is a problematic idea that has been going on for a long, and frankly I don’t get it. We are all the same because we are all human doesn’t matter the color of your skin, doesn’t matter what your nationality is. At the end of the day, we are all human. We all are individuals. We all make our own choices whether those are bad or good. And what makes us equal is the fact we are all Americans. This fact that we have a constitution that is supposed to help make us an equal society. This practice called “Affirmative action” has given this idea of racial discrimination and profiling fuel for its fire. I want to give you some background so originally The Civil Rights Act authorized courts to take "affirmative action" this was in a hope that this practice would actually pull up racially discriminatory practices. That main ideology remains and even was ethically true. In its original form, affirmative action was honorable. But that same statute that originally forbade race preference has actually created a problem and given an excuse for the very preference it sought to uproot. Preference and affirmative action are widely confounded in the public mind because race preferences were introduced in the honorable name of affirmative action. Most folks today, with unintended irony, mean by "affirmative action" that very preference by skin color that affirmative action was devised to eliminate. I want to be clear; it is not affirmative action but generalized race preference that is at issue.
