...40% of old, outdated and discarded electronic items languish in homes and warehouses. India is expected to have an 11% share in the global consumer electronic market by 2015. One of the biggest complaints by many environmentalists is that companies price replacement parts and repair services at unattractive rates so that consumers would prefer buying no products. This has added to the e-waste conundrum. We have discussed later an example of Nintendo breaking away from this clutter Fig. Device explosion globally Fig. The World’s highest gross e-waste producers Fig. The World’s highest e-waste Producers per Capita Fig. EPA data from “Municipal Solid Waste Generation, Recycling and Disposal in the US, 2012 ,” India is not far behind, generating 13,00,000 tonnes of e-waste annually. Fig. Projection of e-waste generation in India Quite obviously, it were the larger and more developed states that produced the maximum e-waste. Fig. State-wise e-waste culprits There were certain cities and territories which are the major contributors. These numbers are of particular interest to budding entrepreneurs, current e-waste recycler looking to expand, Central Government to crack down on. ...trash, parents are now beginning to ask if we sorted the trash. The purpose of my Senior Project was to promote awareness to the benefits of recycling. My community service consisted of promoting, researching and participating in the recycling of aluminum cans. There are many financial and environmental benefits to recycling aluminum and aluminum can be easily collected and reused over and over again. People need to be aware of what is happening in the environment and also be educated on what they can do to help. We need to recycle aluminum because it saves natural resources, time, money, and energy. In one year, the United States produces 160 million tons of garbage, this is enough metal to build two million automobiles, enough wood to construct a million homes, enough paper to publish all the daily newspapers in the country, enough aluminum to rebuild the entire American fleet 71 times, and would fill 11 million garbage trucks. Landfills are quickly increasing in number and size. One of the advantages of recycling is that it helps keep extra waste out of our landfills and incinerators. The sum of existing landfills is increasing because of the lack of care to help the environment. People are lazy and they cannot understand the effects of not recycling. Landfills take up space and they waste the taxpayer's dollars. In an average adult's lifetime, he or she leaves behind 90,000 lbs. of trash for the next generation and approximately 3/5 could have...

...to inform you of your most viable option for getting your 15 sites up and running with the computer hardware. The information I discuss below will be technically and economically feasible for your current situation. With the information provide I am going to choose two types of computers for your organization. One of which is the all in one desktop pc and the other being a handheld computer or tablet. First let me get into the reasoning behind choosing all in one desktop pc for your locations. The all in one desktop pc is such a solid choice for your library locations. They are great for setting up computer stations for patrons, as well as stations for the librarians themselves. They get rid of the mess and hassle of wires to and from tower and monitor. They are almost as easy as taking out of the box and plugging in. They provide all this while still maintaining optimal performance. Secondly I would like to discuss the use and purpose of the tablet pc as your second option for your locations. One of the major reasons behind this is the flexibility and freedom a librarian can have with a tablet at their disposal. If a patron needs assistance with any of the media you provide at your locations they will have access at their fingertips. Tablets have come a long way when it comes to storage and functionality. I would like to give you some system specs and a short review of the two models I have chosen for your organization. These specs should be suitable for your...

...Three factors needing to be considered for performing a cable installation are nature of material, voltage level and current carrying capacity. Also fire protection. The support system for cabling and equipment is a vital component of a properly designed data-communications system. The acceptance and use of the eia/tia-569 Commercial Building Standard for Telecommunications Pathways and Spaces by architects and engineers has proven the importance of a carefully designed and maintained cable-support system. There are six major types of cable supports: cable runway, center-rail systems, cable tray, wire basket, bridle rings or cable hooks, and wireway. Each is designed for specific purposes. One of the most important yet overlooked aspects of a network designer`s job is the specification of a cable-support system. Specifying the requirements of the design can be a difficult process. It may be helpful to consider six key areas when specifying a cable-support system: •load capacity •grounding requirements •materials •amount of mechanical protection required •finishes •plenum requirements Load capacity The maximum cable load allowed on the system is called the load capacity. Span (the distance between supports) and load (the maximum cable weight) dictate the load capacity of a cable-support system. Different standards may use different terms when referring to load capacity but it all boils down to span and cable weight. Although load capacity can be measured in various ways,...

...The California Trail carried over 250,000 gold-seekers and farmers to the gold fields and rich farmlands of the Golden State during the 1840s and 1850s, the greatest mass migration in American history. The general route began at various jumping off points along the Missouri River and stretched to various points in California Oregon, and the Sierra Nevada. The specific route that emigrants and forty-niners used depended on their starting point in Missouri, their final destination in California, the condition of their wagons and livestock, and yearly changes in water and forage along the different routes. The trail passes through the states of Missouri, Kansas Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, Nevada, Oregon, and California. Before the trail was blazed, the Great Basin region had only been partially explored during the days of Spanish and Mexican rule. However, that changed in 1832 when Benjamin Bonneville, a United States Army officer, requested a leave of absence to pursue an expedition to the west. The expedition was financed by John Jacob Astor, a rival of the Hudson Bay company. While Bonneville was exploring the Snake River in Wyoming, he sent a party of men under Joseph Walker to explore the Great Salt Lake and find an overland route to California. Early settlers began to use the trail in the 1840's, the first of which was John Bidwell, who led the 1841 Bidwell-Bartleson Party. In 1842, a member of the Bidwell-Bartleson Party returned to Missouri on the Humboldt...

Ethical concerns arise when a person carrying a receiver has their location transmitted to second party. This type of tracking has a wide variety of applications including tracking dementia sufferers, tracking parolees and law enforcement. A literature review found that the ethics of GPS tracking has not been thoroughly assessed. This paper investigates the ethical issues arising from the real time tracking of people using GPS-based location services. Usability...
