Isolation played a major role in Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton. In the story there were many people who dealt with isolation. Ethan Frome was one of the main characters who dealt with isolation. Ethan tries to escape isolation of Starkfield, but it didn't go so well for him. The isolation caused a major effect on ethan’s life.
