In, “The Sacred Balance: Rediscovering Our Place in Nature”, the author David Suzuki is referring “sacred balance” to humankind’s place in nature. This is highlighting the fact that we are a part of the environment. Suzuki keeps reminding us that we are creatures of Earth and we live unnatural lives and are unbalanced. This is where we need something to keep us grounded. Every living thing on earth requires a balance to survive. These elements are air, fire, water, and earth. Each element plays a significant part in our lives and if our actions counteract them, we are affected as well. Something everyone needs to realize is “We were taking too much from the environment and putting too much waste back into it.”(65). The four elements are renewed
