The Secret Lives of Sgt. John Wilson is a story written by Lois Simmie, that is based in Canada, with the timeframe of this novel being the early Nineteen-Hundreds. Most the information would have been provided from file #3275, she was able to produced an incredible piece of art that both captivates but also repulses her audience. Thoughout the Novel the reader will follow John wilson, and his first wife Polly, being exposed to the encredibly true story of Polly wilson; a women who faced so much adversity, and pain in her life. That can now be experinced by the reader in the words of Lois simmie.

Lois’s purpose for the novel was to tell the heart breaking true story of Mary Wilson otherwise known as Polly. How she loved John Wilson, and how she was exploted by him many times. Lois is able to capture this perfectly from the beginning of her novel to the end. Showing just how far Polly was willing to go for the man she commited herself to. Through every letter, through ever night and day she spent raising their children alone, she never stopped loving him. Lois, truly has created a classic for Canadian literature; her words brought these characters back to life, and in turn they rekindled an old flame of passion that had almost been forgotten. Although this flame was very one-sided; Polly’s heart will and would have always burned, the purest of reds for her husband.
