The songcatcher by Sharyn McCrumb continues to be an extremely exciting book to read. In chapters 7-9 the book picks up right where it left off. In these chapters the author really capitalizes on the suspense she left the reader in. With Lark still stuck in the plane and Joe LeDonne is stuck under the plane he found. Reading this was extremely difficult for me because I don’t handle suspense well. I found myself hanging on every word the author wrote trying to figure out how the story would play. The author uses music to really represent the culture and the heritage of the Appalachian Mountains. “The Rowan Stave” Continues to be passed down through the McCourry family. This is revealed when Zeb sings the song for the ladies from boston. I believe that these ladies were the collectors that Nora Bonesteel mentions to Virgil Swift. The author leaves the readers with a cliffhanger with joe Ledonne legs trapped and no way to get
