The Terrific Twos For this discussion I have chosen separation anxiety and language development. I believe that they are both very important when it comes to child development. They are both important when it come to the way a child will grow up and how they are going to end up later in life. It will also help to determine the type of person they want to be when they get older. Separation anxiety is when a child will get very upset and throw a fit, or even when they get very scared if they are not around their parent(s). The child(ren) may not understand that their parent(s). The child(ren) may not understand that their parent(s) are not leaving forever. When this happens the only thing that a parent(s) can do is try to explain that they will be back. Most of the time children will grow out of this, but there are a few that never do. To help them ease this separation anxiety the parent(s) can do a few different things 1) they can reassure the child(ren) that they love them and they will be back, 2) offer the child(ren) their favorite stuffed animal or even their favorite blanket to hold onto until they return, or 3) they can make up a saying or a secret hand shake that they can do with their child(ren) so that they will know when they tell them that they will be back they can believe them. Language development is when a child(ren) start to learn how to talk or even be able to say words. This is when we as parents start to read stories to them and also show them words that we want them to tell us. The more that this is done with the child or even children the more they will learn and be able to say. You can even make up games with your child(ren) that will help them to learn the words and even some full sentences. You can even tell them that the more words that they can tell you the happier you will be and that you might even get the something
