Tricia Pacaccio was brutally murdered at the age of 18 in 1993 just outside of her home. When the case was taken up by the Cook County’s Department, they had no valid leads on any suspects, even though she had DNA under her fingernails of her neighbor Michael Gargiulo. In these times, DNA trace wasn’t advanced enough to detect if a possible crime had been committed. Unfortunately, in Pacaccio’s case the only evidence retrieved at the crime scene was DNA under her fingernails, her keychain, and finger nail clippings. The investigation could’ve been handled better and been more secured. I question myself wondering, if she was murdered at her home, wouldn’t she have had cried for help and someone would’ve heard her. Multiple departments and investigators
