Because of having large population and growing economy, Nigeria is often cited as the Giant of Africa. Being at the frontline of African development, Nigeria is blessed with a rich blend of tropical rainforests, sea-beaches and beloved river Niger. That’s why a good number of people visit Nigeria every year in order to have a good time here.
If you are not a Nigerian and you want to visit Nigeria as a traveler or for doing business, you will require a Visa for that though Nigeria offers Visa-free travelling for some of the countries. This privilege is only for the Citizens of Economic of West African States (ECOWAS). Excluding the citizens of these countries, all visitors are advised to apply and obtain proper visas from the nearest Nigerian Mission - Embassy, High Commission or Consulate prior to get entrance into Nigeria. Please note here that Nigeria doesn’t offer visa upon arrival, which means visas can’t be issued at the port of entry.
Here goes a brief about two major types of visas that have the most demand:
1. Tourist and Visitors' Visas
To whom it may concern:
• Visitors who want to visit Nigeria only for tourism.
• Any person wishing to visit his/her family members.

Prerequisites for issuing tourist visa:
• Valid national passport with a validity period of 6 months at least at the time of travel.
• Printed copy of a completed Online Visa Application Form with one passport size photograph attached and a copy of Payment Confirmation page.
• Letter of invitation from Nigeria, addressed to the Visa Section.
• Photocopy of Inviter's Passport.
• Evidence of sufficient fund must be provided.
• Evidence of Hotel reservation.
• Valid Airline return-ticket.
• Acceptance of IR (Immigration Responsibilities)

Validity:
• Not valid for employment.

2. Business Visas
To whom it may concern:
• Businessmen and Investors visiting Nigeria for business purpose.

Prerequisites for issuing business visa:
• Valid national passport with a validity period of 6 months at least at the time of travel.
• Printed copy of a completed Online Visa Application Form with a recent passport size photograph attached and a copy of Payment Confirmation page.
• Letter of invitation from persons or organization (on the organization or Company letterhead) in Nigeria, addressed to the Visa Section.
• Evidence of sufficient fund to maintain one's self in the country.
• Valid Airline return-ticket.
• Acceptance of IR (Immigration Responsibilities)

Validity:
• Not valid for employment.
• Validity of stay is 90 days but extendable.

Important Notes:
• Visitors wishing to travel by land in their own vehicles should attach copies of their vehicle details.
• Evidence of Entry Permit should be endorsed in the passport for the countries visitor will be passing through (transit) before reaching Nigeria.
• The visitor may be called for an interview before visa is issued.
• Multiple permits are issued at the discretion of the Visa Officer.
Vaccination: Vaccination against cholera and yellow fever along with anti-malaria prophylactic are recommended from all visitors by Health authorities.
Export of Antiquities: Any form of antiquity including ritual art treasures should not be taken out of the country without written approval from the Department of Antiquities, National Museum, Lagos, or Jos.
Business Hours: Government offices in Nigeria are open from Monday through Friday from 7.30 am to 3.30 pm while commercial houses are open from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm. Offices are closed on Saturdays and Sundays usually, but many shops are open on Saturdays and some banks also remain open on Saturdays as well.
A good news for the visitors that all visa applications and payments are made through Nigerian Immigration website. Click here to visit.

It visualizes the negation of female gender in art. The paper investigates the dichotomy of language, the use of irony and situational metaphors to displace conventional ones; it blends theories with critical evaluation of discourse. The research uses empirical methods in solving hypothetical questions with the use of extensive and relatively unstructured interviews. It examines the interviews of twenty five people independently, these people include: University lecturers, students, administrative and technical staff. The work analyzes concurrently their interview testimonies to search for congruence. Data analysis begins with a detailed microanalysis in which emergent concepts...

...WOMEN DEVELOPMENT AND NATIONAL POLICY ON WOMEN IN NIGERIA Olubunmi Aderemi Sokefun Abstract This paper discusses the document on women in Nigeria (National Policy on Women). Several past administrations in this country have treated women issues and affairs with calculated levity: Carefully side - tracking or blatantly refusing to accord it the necessary attention. It is now a thing to gladden the hearts of all women of Nigeria that, "after four attempts by four former heads of Nigeria's Government," Chief Obasanjo's administration finally granted government recognition to women's issues in this country. The official document .on Human Rights' issues as it relates to Nigerian women; this document is known as the NATIONAL POLICY ON WOMEN. This paper therefore focuses on the document which promises to bring delight to the heart of every woman in this country. Introduction When late Mrs. Olufunmilayo Ransome Kuti joined the vanguard team as the only nationalist and activist during the early struggle for Nigerian independence, hardly did .anybody realize then that she had a dream, a clear vision of a future Nigerian woman, that vision was crystal clear in her heart, and like a pivot, it stood firmly on three stand posts-known today as women's rights, women emancipation and women empowerment.. . Mrs. Olufunmilayo Ransome-Kuti later joined by some educated women of like minds, fought daringly and relentlessly for these three .pivotal goals of women emergency and relevance in the socio-political...

...SPECIAL REPORT I N T E R N AT I O N A L B A N K I N G May 19th 2012 Retail renaissance SPECIAL REPORT INTERNATIONAL BANKING Retail renaissance The internet and mobile phones are at long last turning boring old retail banking into an exciting industry, says Jonathan Rosenthal IF YOUR BANK could start over, this is what it would be, trumpeted the marketing campaign for the launch in 1999 of Wingspan, an internet bank. The following year the bank was gone. In September 2000, a few months after the dotcom bubble burst, it was absorbed by its boring American bricks-and-mortar parent, Bank One (now part of JPMorgan). For all the high hopes that the internet would transform banking, most other internet banks launched around that time met with a similar fate. Citi f/i, an online bank started by Citigroup, was folded back into its parent in 2000. NetBank, an American pioneer of internet banking, soldiered on for longer than most but was shut down by banking regulators in 2007. On the other side of the Atlantic, Egg, Britain’s rst stand-alone internet bank, shook the market in 1999-2000 when it gained more than 2m customers within months of starting up. But within a few years it, too, had in e ect disappeared, its customers having been sold rst to Citigroup and then to Barclays and the Yorkshire Building Society. It was an ignominious end to a bold experiment in online banking that had caused palms to sweat in banking centres around the world. The promise of internet banking...
