Theodore Roosevelt was born on October 27, 1858. He was born in his house in New York City. His grandmother had a nickname for him "Teddie". Theodore suffered from asthma when he was little. He was too sick to attend school, so his aunt had to teach him at home. He had many careers. He was a policeman, in the navy, and a president. Theodore died on January 6, 1919, of a blood clot that clogged an artery that lead to his heart. He died in his bed a four o'clock in the morning. When Roosevelt was 23 his wife and mother dies on the same day in 1884. Theodore was sad and spent two years on the ranch he owned where he worked for the police department. He made the United States have some insurance for the people that needed them. He put himself and the government before anything. The people of the United States like Theodore so much until they voted him to run for a second term. In 1904 he became known as the "trust buster". He became known as the trust buster because he would break up the industrial combustions that was under the Sherman Antitrust Act. He bought land and set aside 200 acres for forest and wildlife refuges. Theodore won the nobel peace prize because he shut down the Russo- Japanese War. Roosevelt ran for mayor but it was unsuccessful. He was an assistance of the U.S. Navy. He also became a leader of cavalry named the "Rough Riders". They were in many battles. They were brave men to fight in Cuba against San Juan. When he returned home he was notified as a "visible hero". "Elected governor of the state of New York in 1898, he invested his two-year administration with the vigorous and businesslike characteristics which were his hallmark. He would have sought reelection in 1900, since much of his work was only half done, had the Republicans not chosen him as their candidate for the second office of the Union. He held the vice-presidency for less than a year, succeeding to the presidency after the assassination of President McKinley on September 14, 1901. In 1904 Roosevelt was elected to a full term as
