Developmental Psychology is the study and focus on how an individual will behave or grow up to be (develop). This can can help predict one's behavior by examining their age,the external influences around them, and their way of thinking. You then matching them to a psychologist assertions to predict how the earliness of their childhood will affect them in the future. It can also help understand an individual and their habits by again, applying their situation into past experiments and evaluations done by psychologist. With this you can infer that one's reason for acting the way they do can be traced, understood, and can predict their path by the examples given from developmental psychology, especially from using examples of Learning Concepts, …show more content…
Although in her age right now she would be considered to be in the genital stage: being in a place where she begins to flit and look for a partner. Looking at Freud's stages of development it can be shown that Yanci is fixated in the anal stage The anal stage in composed of children from the ages of one years old to three. Freud stated that your sensitive zones during this stage were your bladder and bowels meaning it had to do with potty training. With this, he also pushed that if the child during potty training wasn't “properly trained” meaning they were allowed to have slip-ups they would grow up to be very messy and disorderly. Yanci reportedly saying “will get sucked in with the mess in there” referring to her bag, shows that she is still fixated in this anal …show more content…
Also having stages he created positive and negative outcomes a person might experience due to events and influences. Observing Yancis; situation you can conclude that she, being the age that she is, is in stage five, Identity vs Role Confusion. This stage revolves around who we, as people ,want to be. We search for our identity experimenting and seeking for who we are. Yanci seems to have an identity crises. She does not know what she wants to do after highschool nor has a plan since she lost her motivation; she doesn't seek to find herself. This can be connected to the past stage, stage 4: Competence vs. Inferiority. Here it explains how if a child ages 6-11 does not receive support or a push, does not feel confident in what they do, hence pushing Yanic to losing her motivation for school. Continuing down this path, Yanci can, when older, go through her Ego Integrity vs. Despair stage by regretting how she lived her life. Since she did not experience school how she wanted to nor pushed herself to make the best of school, she will pass down unethical advice since she did not look and find her
