In the story Egeus had went to see Thesus, duke of Athens with a complaint against his daughter Hermia. Even though he promised she was to marry Demetrius, who was in love with her but Lysander, an Athenian youth who had won her heart. Hermia had refuse to listen to her father in marry Demetrius because she was so in love with Lsyander. Her not wanting to marry Demetrius didn’t sit well with Egeus that he demanded she be punish by law for not obeying his word. Thesus then went to her in said she will be sent to nunnery or put to death for not wanting to marry him. Lysander had then made it seem that Demetrius is not telling the truth about being in love with Hermia because he was once engaged to her friend Helena. Which was a smart thing to being that up at that time because they was talking about putting her to death for not marrying him. When Thesus, Egeus, and Demetrius had left the room. ...The Course of True Love Never Did Run Smooth Love is the main point in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which begins as Theseus and Hippolyta prepare for their upcoming wedding, but love isn’t necessarily romantic. Instead, the play shows the chance of desire, along with its depth, the sighs and tears that often make lovers confused. Throughout the play, we see how the troubled relationships between Demetrius, Helena, Hermia, and Lysander are similar to Theseus and Hippolyta and Oberon and Titania. In the beginning of the play, Theseus, the Duke of Athens, is engaged to Hippolyta. He met her in battle which he explains in-depth, "...I wooed thee with my sword, / And won thee doing thee injuries; but I will wed thee in another key (1.1.16). Hippolyta doesn't mind being a literal wife, she seems happy to be engaged to Theseus and even looks forward to their wedding night, when "the moon shall behold the night / of their solemnities" (1.1.9-11). Hermia's father, Egeus, wants Demetrius as a suitor, and acquires the aid of Theseus to enforce his wishes upon his daughter. According to Athenian law, Hermia is given four days to marry Demetrius, or she’ll be put to death. But she loves Lysander, so she decides to escape with Lysander into the surrounding forest. Complications arise in the forest. Oberon and Titania, King and Queen of Fairies, are locked in an argument over an Indian boy whom Titania has adopted. “I do but beg a little changeling buy, to be my henchman” (2.1. 120-121)...

...The Story of Baucis and Philemon Ovid is an extremely detailed writer, enabling the reader to envision what is written. Each story that Ovid writes seems to convey a deeper message, making Ovid’s writing even more appealing to the reader. Specifically, the myth that touched me the most was The Story of Baucis and Philemon. Its powerful content, coupled with its unique style, makes it a memorable poem in Ovid’s Metamorphoses. There is a specific writing style which keeps the reader interested in reading the poem itself. Ovid’s main message in the poem, which struck me most, was Ovid’s emphasis on the importance of hospitality to one’s neighbor. Despite their lack of money, Baucis and Philemon offered their guests only the very best they had. Baucis and Philemon undoubtedly made every effort to be hospitable to their guests, truly making them feel comfortable as though the guests were in their own home. To highlight the extent of their hospitality, Ovid goes into great detail about the set up of the dinner table and meal preparation. In doing so, the reader is able to experience for himself the time and effort that Baucis and Philemon put in to satisfy their guests. For example, Ovid informs the reader of such minute details such as the fact that Philemon pulled out a couch for the Gods to sit on while Baucis warmed up the fire to cook.
