The Things My Mom Does To Annoy Me: I have always disliked being around people who are annoying but sometimes there’s no escaping. When it comes to my mother there is only so much I can take before she becomes annoying. Some of the habits my mom posses that annoys me the most is when she compares me to my cousin, or when she treats me like a child, and lastly when she talks during a movie. My mother always finds a way to annoy me by comparing me with my cousin. She always have to tell me how I should be more like my cousin, and how I should have went to a Four year university. One night while company was over for dinner she just couldn’t help herself, and started to brag about my cousin going to a Four year university and me choosing to go to a two year college. She also told them how my cousin doesn’t give her parents any trouble, and how she’s so perfect. The more she kept speaking about my cousin the more I became annoyed. I don’t understand how she doesn’t see that I get annoyed every time she brings up my cousin. I was so embarrassed. I know I should be use to her behavior, but I will always find myself getting annoyed. Not only does my mother compare me to my cousin, she also treats me like a child. Recently I went to the Catalina Islands for a week with some friends, and although I know how to take care of myself my mom still thinks I haven’t yet learned. The entire trip she kept calling me, reminding me, to put on suntan lotion, or to make sure I watch my surroundings at all time , and extc. Although I know she was being helpful, I couldn’t enjoy my trip because most of the time I found myself on the phone. She also still tries to give me bedtimes and curfews. She doesn’t realize that I am not 11 years of age anymore, so she doesn’t needs to “baby” me. Lastly, she doesn’t know how to be quiet doing a movie which is so annoying. My mother could not just watch a movie she has to talk the entire movie. One day my mom asked if I wanted to watch a movie I said, “yes”. I thought it would be a good bonding experience, but I should have thought twice before I said yes. In the middle of the movie she starts to ask so many questions, such as “ What happened to the girl?”, “Why is she running?”, “ Is she going to die”? She acted as if I had the answer to those questions. I was so annoyed that I didn’t even want to watch the movie anymore. I couldn’t even enjoy the movie because all I heard was her voice. I would think I should be used to my mother behavior, but I just cant ignore it. Although there are more behaviors I find annoying, comparing me to my cousin, treating me like a child, and talking during a movie are the main habits my mom posses that annoys me the most. I hope one day my mom will change her behaviors, but until then I will always find myself being annoyed.

Personal Essay

...Personal Essay Whenever I think of my parents, I think of many things. I think of the future and the past, I think of the years we spent together and the funny moments. From as far back as I can remember, I saw my dad everyday but not often because he used to come home from work late, and at that time I used to be asleep. However, my mom was there most of the time. On weekends two of my uncle’s, my aunt, and my grandfather come to our house. The adults go to the living room and they either talk about their week, about family related, or politics. My brother and I enjoyed playing with our cousins, but at the same time my dad insisted that I should stay with the adults. My sister helped my mom in the kitchen. As soon the food was ready we all would go and help my mom to get the food on the table. It would take my mom all morning just to make Arabic food;dolma, kabab and some rice . Yet she would be last one that starts eating. At the table everyone would be busy either eating or passing the food. On the weekends that my uncles, aunt, or my grandfather couldn't come to our house my dad would take us to a restaurant that my brother, sister and I choose. We always choose BurgerKing, McDonalds, or PizzaHut. However, my mom prefers to eat healthy food. My relationship with my parents when I was small was perfect to me. I still remember those moments of my childhood, the times that I used to sleep in my parent’s bedroom every time I felt scared, and the times I used to love going with...

Personal Narrative: My Stuffed Frogs

...little brother. I still have problems with him now, but not like back then. He would always annoy me, and I did not do well holding back my anger towards him, and for that, I got in trouble with my parents almost every day. This cycle went on for a few months. One day, I was so fed up with his noises that he made, that I made a gun shape with my fingers and pretended to shoot him, without realizing that my mom and stepdad were directly behind me. They took every single thing from my room except for my bed, my desk full of markers, and the five stuffed frogs in the closet that my grandpa bought me when I was five. By that age I was, “too old” for stuffed animals, so I just left the frogs there in my closet. However, after about a week of staring at the wall all day, (except for when I came out to eat), I started to lose my mind without anything to do, so I opened up my closet and grabbed the frogs. I didn’t really know what to do with them, until I started talking to them. For about 3 months those frogs were my best friends. Even after I earned my belongings back, and could play with my video games again, I still just talked to the frogs. I named the smallest one Grolmo, and another one was named Horus. They earned a special place in my heart, for being there for me in my time of need....

Puerile-Personal Narrative

...notifications. After reading all of my notifications, and lets be honest, playing a few games, I got up, went to the bathroom, and fixed my black hole of a mess hair. It was a long process of fixing my crazy, atramentous, convoluted hair. Some people, which includes my sister, thinks that in the morning, my hair's a rat's nest and I wholeheartedly agree with her. I hustled down the curvilinear, cafe au lait, arduous stairs and went to the kitchen to grab the ambrosial breakfast that my mom has made ever since I was puerile and petite. Ahhh, those were the days, I remembered. I wonder how mom and dad became so contradisnict? As I waddled like a penguin to the living room, I grabbed some exquisite orange juice from imported oranges from Florida. At least, that’s what the box said. Anyways, I plopped down on our gelatinous couch and started watching...

...because they asking millions of questions and they have sometimes a weird requests. Write An Essay About Moving To San Diego

...I was only six months old when my mom decided to move to San Diego from Mexico. I obviously have no memories of where I was originally born, but one thing I do know for sure is that I do not want to go back. My parents are always suggesting to go back for a visit to see my grandparents, but for some unknown reason I cannot seem to convince myself to go. I basically grew up in San Diego and have adapted to its culture and the environment. I come from two wonderful parents who like to put my sister and my life to the test. They are always telling us, “we are preparing you guys for life, it is not going to be easy living on your own in this big world with crazy people, so might as well get prepared now.” Something that I do appreciate them saying...

Time Management

...high school in 1991 and I have found it very hard to adapt to learning in an online classroom as to learning in an actual classroom with a teacher in front of the classroom. Today’s technology has become far more advanced than what I ever realized it would be even when I was sixteen-seventeen years old. I choose this topic to write about for my personal essay to see how many others in my classroom may have the same struggles and fears of online learning as I do. My reason for seeking a college degree are really plain and simple, we have all age groups in our online classroom and all over our online campus, we have students such as my son that are fresh out of high-school and then you have students that have been to college already and want to further their knowledge for whatever the reasons may be, a job promotion, a change in career or just simply to keep their minds fresh and up to date with all the new things that come about everyday. I myself have a goal of pursuing legal studies to one day become an attorney and opening a law firm with my son that can be passed down to generations of our family if that is something they want to pursue and if not that is also okay, it is still dream that I will have fulfilled thus making me happy in life. It will give me a feeling of great accomplishment to say to myself I have done something in my life besides just being a wife and a mother to my children. I am showing my children that if...

This was my last interaction with my sister that i love so much its already twenty years since i last saw her but yet every day this conversation plays over and over again in my head. When I got home and reported the incident to my parents they didn’t even bat an eyelid all my dad said was that “she will be back when she is done crying!” just because of this statement i felt a rush of adrenaline all over me and i saw that my parents saw her as a pain in the butt and her running away was like a relief to them – i hated my parents bitterly and i wished they would just die by the next morning little did i know that i was about to experience the same thing my sister had experienced. Freudian Defense Mechanism's

...Freudian Defense Mechanisms While we studied Freud’s defense mechanism in class I could recognize how almost every single one of the mechanisms has been present in my life at some time, but a few were more predominate than others. The four that really stood out to me during your lecture were compartmentalization, displacement, emotional isolation, and undoing. In my life all four of these have been used by my ego in a way to try and reduce stress or tension that was or is occurring. I was born and raised in a strong Christian family. We prayed before all our meals and went to church every Sunday morning. As I grew older I also started to attend church on Wednesday and Sunday nights for youth group and small groups. I was taught numerous things such as not to drink, do drugs, have premarital sex, gossip, cheat, use curse words, or lie. Since I attended a private Christian school the majority of my childhood everyone around me had the same morals and beliefs so it was not hard to believe that this was the way I should live my life. Once I hit seventh grade the private school I was attending stopped offering classes to adolescents my age forcing me to attend public school, this is where everything changed. I began to date boys and say phrases like “ Oh my god” instead of “ Oh my gosh.” Public school was a completely different world that I didn’t even know existed until then, but middle school was just the beginning of my complete life change. Once I reached high school I got...

Children Doing Chores

...Liberty University ENGL 101 Author Note 1928 Cypress Lane, Newton, Kansas Abstract Children doing chores has almost become a pastime in some families. In my family it is a building block for life. I use chores in our household to teach life lessons and to strengthen integrity and work performance. I also, believe that it builds a strong character and a work ethic that businesses are desperate to have out of is employees. Teaching our children the value of a dollar and the hardships that come with not earning a dollar is something all parents need to focus more of their time on. Life is not about how much money you can make or how much stuff you can have. It is about whose life you can impact. Children that lending helping hands to do chores for money or no money are children that will grow into adults that are valued in a place of business or in a firm. Children should take pleasure and enjoyment out of chores, because they need to learn that sense of accomplishment that is derived from a job well done, a chore completed and a project finished. In my paper I will touch on key points such as building character, work ethic, incentives and the value of the Spend, Save and Give system. Keywords: household, chores, character, ethic, incentives Children Doing Chores: Are Chores Beneficial to a Child’s Development? It has always been pondered by parents, grandparents, and children themselves; are doing chores beneficial to a child’s development? In all reality it depends...

Secrets

...smoking habit is a physical addiction to tobacco products. Many health experts now regard habitual smoking as a psychological addiction, too, and one with serious health consequences. Smoking risks Smoking is recognized as the leading preventable cause of death, causing or contributing to the deaths of approximately 430,700 Americans each year. Anyone with a smoking habit has an increased chance of lung, cervical, and other types of cancer; respiratory diseases such as emphysema, asthma, and chronic bronchitis; and cardiovascular disease, such as heart attack, high blood pressure, stroke, and atherosclerosis (narrowing and hardening of the arteries). The risk of stroke is especially high in women who take birth control pills. Smoking can damage fertility, making it harder to conceive, and it can interfere with the growth of the fetus during pregnancy. It accounts for an estimated 14% of premature births and 10% of infant deaths. There is some evidence that smoking may cause impotence in some men. Because smoking affects so many of the body's systems, smokers often have vitamin deficiencies and suffer oxidative damage caused by free radicals. Free radicals are molecules that steal electrons from other molecules, turning the other molecules into free radicals and destabilizing the molecules in the body's cells. Smoking is recognized as one of several factors that might be related to a higher risk of hip fractures in older adults. Studies reveal that the more a person smokes, the...
