...Silly Putty "Stretch it, pull it, Bounce it" (Ball of fun) Introduction: Silly putty is a toy that kid totally enjoy or chemical compound made of silicone and boric acid. It is composed of flexible molecules that give the material flow. Silly putty is a viscoelastic liquid and is a mixture of water, glue, and boron [1]. The word, viscoelastic is a compound word, visco means "resistant to flow" [Dictionary] and elastic describes a material that when stretched returns to its original form. In silly putty, each molecule is made of long chain of identical smaller molecules. When boric acid is applied to these long chains, boron cross-links begin to form [1]. Because of the constant motion of the molecules in solids and liquids, the boron cross-links are not very strong and break very easily. Silly putty react different to quick and slow forces [1]. When one quickly stretches it, it breaks instantly, and if one stretches it slowly it will stretches to greater distance and then breaks at some point. One can bounce it, throw it, decorate with it, stretch it, or make imprints with it. Uses: 1. ...search of either of Park’s initiated hashtags you can understand the scope of her campaigns. However, without discrediting her prior attempts of hashtag activism, the “#CancelColbert” hashtag was as frivolous as was Colbert’s, since deleted, tweet: “I am willing to show #Asian community I care by introducing the Ching-Chong Ding-Dong Foundation for Sensitivity to Orientals or Whatever.” In Josh Depp’s tweet in response to Park’s interview with Huffington Post: “Ahh, the righteousness of professional umbrage-takers. @suey_park wasn't muted or silenced. I invited her to explain herself & she declined,” he makes a point that Park’s activism belongs only on social media, in replying to another Twitter user by saying: “Pretending that a silly idea isn't silly because of the race of the person holding it is condescending and racist, @FatBodyPolitics” he backs his stance. Depp’s tweet eluding to hashtag activism and calling out Park for thinking that a joke made by a known abrasive comedian can be taken out of context to the point where “#CancelColbert” was a trending topic in America further proves Park’s influence on social media. Nonetheless, a hashtag is nothing more than a cry for attention, whether it be personal or for a cause, once you log out of your Twitter account the hashtag being used is no longer relevant, just like after hearing Colbert’s joke and laughing it is no longer relevant....

...hose are made of), Silly Putty®, and the bouncy ball. Nylon Nylon, a synthetic polymer fiber, was invented by Wallace Hume Carothers at the E.I. DuPont de Nemours Company in Delaware in 1934. Nylon stockings became a huge hit as soon as they were released during World War II after a public supply cut-off. Although Carothers receives recognition for the creation of the polymer, another DuPont employee may the actual inventor. Julian Hill worked with Carothers, and had spent time developing a process where a long fiber with a silky texture could be created of carbon polymers. Carothers may have had a psychological issue, and committed suicide in 1937. The company accredited the invention of nylon to him in honor of him. Nylon was created entirely from petrochemicals unlike previous artificial fabrics like rayon and acetate, which were plant based. Nylon was designed as a synthetic silk for women’s stockings. The material was intended to be less expensive while adding qualities such as strength and insulation. Nylon is not only used in stockings, but is also used in an enormous amount of other products, including basketball nets, carpeting, clothing, fishing line, guitar strings, surgical sutures, tennis racquet strings and vehicle upholstery, among others. Nylon has even been to the moon. On the first trip to the moon, the astronauts wore space suits containing nylon fibers. The flag that Neil Armstrong planted there was also made of nylon. ...Literature shows humans that empathy and compassion is found in even the most least expected places. For example, “ . . . one criminal, a young man, is dying. As he dies, another criminal stands watch before his bed, and he begins to cry . . .” (Fassler). Majority of people have an ideal thought that criminals are desensitized monsters, but the criminal crying shows that he has remorse and feelings. In the text, it states, “This man committed crimes. He was not useful to the society. He did terrible things. But he is also a human being. He also had a mother like we had . . . We should understand that people are not bad, but they can do bad things under particular circumstances” (Fassler). Literature is trying to show that people mess up, but it does not make that person any less...

...After reading this week’s reading text and making research and also piercing my personal experience through the results of my readings and researches, I am left with some controversies and questions unanswered. Stage vs. Medical Hypnosis “Belling like a dog” or “jumping around like a frog” or “falling into deep sleep” because a man snapped his fingers and say “go”, are all sort of wonderings or interpretations of how many of us might understand Hypnosis to be. This is a big misconceptions and are only good entertainment practices portrayed by actors. Such interpretations and presentations are academically referred to as “stage hypnotisms” (Clifford, 2013). My opinion, Why & Why not. Even if someone should do “silly things” at the order of someone else, the doer is in full awareness of doing it. They just love to do so or are even the actors of the show itself. Because if not, that will not define or relate to the meaning of Hypnosis, “…a state of extreme elf-focus and attention in which minimal...

On average he received (US) $36 Billion in a financial year. Mickey mouse was his feature animation, but this lovable character wouldn't have been created if it wasn't for NBC studios. Walt's original main cartoon was 'Oswald the Lucky Duck', until NBC studios claimed it as their own. After Walter and Roy lost the rights to their character, they created Mickey Mouse. In 1929, silly symphonies was released. It was a short cartoon that was presented by Mickey Mouse. The very first silly symphonies was 'Skeleton Dance' on August 22nd, 1929. Disney made 75 episodes in total. Donald Duck was first introduced to the world in an episode called 'The Wise Little Hen', made in 1934. Pluto stared in 'Just Dogs' in 1932. Popular characters, such as Pluto and Donald were separated from silly symphonies and were given their own series. Before Walt...

... We offer payment plans, as well as package deals for families of all budgets. The three important services we offer every client, is to work with each child individually, and in group setting with teachers who will bring out the child’s creative side, no child shall ever be turned away due to non-payment, and we teach each child to learn how to express themselves fully through art, and their creative side. My organization will be different from the competition because we are not a babysitting drop off center for parents; we are not a school of fine arts, nor are we a therapist center, My main goal is to see the silly, creative, and goofy side of kids come out and they are able to express those feelings on papers, on the walls, and on the furniture! I foresee this company flourishing within the next 5 years. Once parents see how at ease, and relaxed, and silly their kids become from the experience of my organization, word will spread and will become known from...

...Creative Thinking Name HUM/111 April 28, 2013 Yasmeen Thomas Creative Thinking Of all the political issues present in our country today, the issue of Gay Marriage is one that everyone has an opinion on. There are very few people who will ever say, “I have no opinion.” They may not want to express their opinion, but everyone will have an opinion on this topic. The Gay Marriage debate is explosive because it touches several hot buttons: religion, civil rights, homosexuality, homophobia, race and hatred. In order to properly address this issue we have to consider all sides of the issue. Not just the issue itself, but how each side feels about the issue. We have to ask if their opinions are valid or emotional. We have to ascertain whether their feelings are based on universal truths or religious fervor. By considering all sides we may come up with multiple solutions. We can also put ourselves in the opponent’s shoes and try to argue against ourselves so we can see what the other side sees. We can also take the position of an onlooker to judge the situation impartially. In a topic like this there is rarely one solution. More likely, it will be a series of imaginative compromises that will ultimately take place. As Alfred North Whitehead warned, “Fools act on imagination without knowledge; pedants act on knowledge without imagination.” Living creative means combining knowledge and imagination (Vincent Ryan Ruggiero, 2012). In order to bring groups together...

When they arrive at her house, she explains the noise inside: “Oh, just my mother and father and uncle sitting around, talking.” (Bradbury 9), a habit Montag has never seen before in a family. He becomes jealous of her and her family for having everyday conversations that have much more meaning than any he has with his wife, Mildred, or the other firemen. Montag is unable to stop thinking about her and her ways, and as he is deep in thought one day, he asks Mildred how they met. When she is unable to answer, Montag is disturbed and realized how distant he and Mildred are. This and Clarisse’s influence show Montag how devoid of any meaning life has become, and sets the stage for Montag’s transformation. After the...

...I always thought that competition is an excellent way to motivate kids. Many times, I made contests in the class, competitions, etc. I always found it that extra bit more fun when I was a student, if I had to compete against some other students.Recently, however, I find that competition is not for everyone. Most students really enjoy the sense of play, the sense of fun in beating or trying to beat their opponent in a silly competition, but for some kids competition evokes the exact opposite effect. Some students just shut down - they don't see the point of playing when they have no chance of winning. I decided to make a list of things I think are good and bad (my pros and cons) about competition in the class. And then accordingly, I would decide whether it's a good idea for a given situation or not such a great plan for the lesson. Pros: 1. Most kids really enjoy the "game" aspect of a competition. Fun = good for learning. 2. This is a great way to get the students to actively participate in the class. They get really involved, and just from the involvement they learn more than they would have by sitting and just passively listening. 3. Great for the bright and fast kids. If they're usually on the border of boredom, a game / competition will get them motivated to start thinking again. 4. Lets students have a sense of success. 5. If done in groups, can really develope comradeship with the other team members. 6. Some students work best under pressure. Competition is the...
