...Using the discounted cash flow model approach and Liedtke’s base case projections, the value of Mercury was estimated to be approximately $421,437,699. The free cash flows for Mercury Athletic Footwear from 2007 to 2011 were calculated from Liedtke’s projections of Mercury’s performance and balance sheet (Exhibit 6 and 7). From Liedtke’s projected performance of Mercury Athletic Footwear, earnings before interests and taxes (EBIT) was evaluated from the consolidated revenue and operating expenses. Corporate overhead Corporate overhead (assuming they are all fixed overhead) was not included in the calculation of EBIT since overhead costs are fixed and will be incurred in any case. They are not incremental to the project and should not be included in the calculation of incremental earnings (Berk & DeMarzo 2007). Net working capital From Liedtke’s projections of the balance sheet for Mercury Athletic Footwear, net working capital was computed from the difference between current assets and current liabilities, which allowed the increase in net working capital to be calculated. From the historical financial statements of Mercury Athletic Footwear, the increase in net working capital for 2007 was determined by calculating the difference between the net working capital in 2007 and 2006. Free cash flows The free cash flows (FCF=EBIT×(1-τ_c )+Depreciation-CapEx-∆NWC) from 2007 to 2011 was then determined from the figures calculated from the base case projections (Berk & DeMarzo...

...Depression” that occurred in the 1930’s . This even caused so many people in the United States to stop working and banks were all shut down. Now, your probably asking like, “Did everyone went poor?”, “What did they do in order to make money?”, or “How did they pay bills?”. Will lets find out the answers to this questions. Now, we all know that if we need food, we’ll go shopping and get food. But you see, during The Great Depression, they not only shut down the banks but they also shut the stores. When they shut down stores, no one is able to sell or buy anything and all the workers had to quit. So what did they do? If you take a look at Passage 1 by RObert J. Hastings, it gives you an example of what people back then did. Like for example, paragraph three gives you an example of what one of the people did. This paragraph stated “...bought a horse to break gardens, rented an extra lot of garden on the shares, picked peaches…” So this gives you a bit of information on what they did. People would buy stuff from others and others would buy stuff...

...industrial revolution and the many inventions that would shape this time one was steel and the Bessemer process this also helped get and build stuff faster. They also could then help prevent fires like in cities like Chicago. But other then that three other things that helped the industrial boom like the railroads, immigration, and new technology. Some of the thing with the railroads like the miles of railroad they built from 1860 to 1900 it went from about 30,000 to about 190,000 miles (doc 2) of train track so they could move supplies from one side of the country to the other side so farmers could get there stuff to the big market. One other thing that the railroad help make possibly help make political parties and stuff like that making taxes off the railroads they would also work with some of the people that helped run the railroads. Immigration was a big part of the industrial boom with the people that it brought in to the country. It would help the nation in many different ways one of those ways is that they would get these immigrants as they would use these people of for cheap labor. This would also help with getting stuff made in these factories made it more possible for people to get cheap stuff and so everyone could get cheap stuff also they would be helped by the republicans with they helped support for more immigration. This would help give them easier ways to get into the country (doc 3). This will help the boom of immigrants become part of our industrial...

...that I was about to turn 15 and wow that movie had a lot of stuff in it. I believe they should have more strict rules about children and teenagers seeing those kinds of movies and television shows. Today many children and teenagers are allowed to see movies that are rated R as long as their parents or guardian are present. Honestly that should not be allowed period. There are many things children shouldn’t see and two of those things are sex and violence. If their raised in a bad environment and their allowed to see stuff like that that could in fact affect them in the long run. There have been many people I know influenced by movies that become very bad people doing all types of wrongs. Now in today’s generation television shows aren’t as bad as the movies but some if not most still have sex and violence and most of them. Now parents have a little more control now than they did back then due to the parental controls most cable companies provide. Though there are some people who just don’t care about what their children watch. Many shows that I know would affect a child would be the walking dead, sons of anarchy, and the breaking bad. I mean really The breaking bad is about a person who cooks meth, the walking dead is about zombies and for sure would give children nightmares, and the sons of anarchy are a motorcycle crew who do all kinds of wrong. If I ever have a child I will not ever show him/her this kinda stuff at such a young age. Now another influence that cases...

...The Story of Stuff: A Review The Story of Stuff is a 20-minute film aimed at raising awareness on the dangers of excessive human consumption. Presented by Annie Leonard – an activist for consumerism and environmental sustainability (Story Of Stuff Project, 2013) – this video provides a simple yet well researched explanation on the ‘behind-the-scenes’ management of the life-cycle of common items consumed daily in the United States. From mining and manufacturing to distribution, consumption and waste, this presentation takes viewers on a journey to explore many missing fragments that are hardly ever reported in the system (Leonard, 2009). Watched by over 12 million people worldwide, and translated into over 15 languages (Roosevelt, 2010), Leonard has received both applauds and criticisms for her unapologetic condemnation of humans (especially Americans) – for their excessive consumption and wasteful habits – and her rather conspicuous allegation of the devious relationship between the government and private corporations. One significant issue that Leonard (2009) presented in the video was that, due to human activity, natural resources around the world are rapidly diminishing. Natural resources such as minerals and trees are constantly mined and felled to satisfy men’s insatiable appetite for more goods. The presentation revealed that in the last decade, one-third of the world’s resource base has depleted. Furthermore, it is said that only four percent...

...645 of the best Rock Songs Ever: Are these the greatest 645 Rock songs ever? I would say yes. ...But "best ever" and "greatest" type terms are subjective to your tastes. Note I used "of the" in the title. I won't presume to think this is everything. There is bound to be a few of somebody's personal favorites omitted (especially newer stuff). You should, however, find a ton of good stuff in here and not much you will hate, unless you suck of course! ;-) Why did I share this? I'm sick of seeing these so-called "Greatest ### Songs of all time" torrents that really seemed to be filled with schlock. Again, it's subjective, but when you've got 500 songs, it's hard to justify leaving certain all time classics out. What is it? This is stuff from my personal collection. I normalized the volume of this pack (to 93 Db) so you won't have dead quiet levels on one song and then ear shattering loudness on the next track. All are .mp3 format. Most (95%) are high bit rates, 192 to 320, with a few scattered 160 and the very rare (like 5 or so) 128 bitrate songs. I separated them into 3 categories of: Rock, Lite Rock and Hard Rock. This may not be perfect either, so sue me… Why 645 songs? Why not 500? ...or 734? This torrent, at 4.37GB, just barely fits on one DVD. I suppose I could have re-encoded everything to 192, but hey, I'm lazy. You're lucky I bothered to segregate these songs from my collection and share them! So… 645 it is! Seeding/connection: ...

...Lidia Kim Ethics Economics and Ecology The Story of Stuff The Story of Stuff, true to its title, is about stuff: where it comes from, what we do with it, and how we dispose of it when we don't want it anymore. Using a combination of statistical evidence, anecdotes, and case studies, Annie Leonard walks us through the world we are living in in terms of consumption. She breaks the cycle of consumption down into five parts and devotes a chapter of the book to each: extraction, production, distribution, consumption, and disposal. Each section of the book tells of the environmental and health dangers of our current practices. While Leonard does try to tell us about the good things that are going on in each chapter and includes promising laws and possible helpful individual actions in appendices, the overall tone of the book is dark. She highlight’s our countries’ wrongdoings, and offers theoretical Leonard begins her journey of “stuff” with the process of extraction. The first chapter deals with how, where and what resources are collected in order to begin their arduous transformation into everyday consumer items like cell phones, clothing, and paper. Our precious stuff would be nothing without the raw material necessary to create them. Leonard organizes all basic resources into 3 simple categories: tree, water and rock. With each of the categories, The Story of Stuff explores a plethora of environmental and moral concerns in harvesting. She outlines the ecological, economic...

Focus on the user and all else will follow, 2. It’s best to do one thing really, really well, 3. Fast is better than slow, 4. Democracy on the web works, 5. You don’t need to be at your desk to need an answer, 6. You can make money without doing evil, 7. There’s always more information out there, 8. The need for information crosses all borders, 9. You can be serious without a suit, and 10. Great just isn’t good enough. (Google Company). These are the things that Google follows and what has made them the successful company that they are. Google’s culture is very different that what most companies have. “The average Google employee generates more than $1 million in revenue each year” (“Workforce Management”. ...requirements for this unit? This week I cannot talk about completing all of my requirements, for for the first time during my study I did not have enough time to complete my learning journal task, a work that I used to do since before the given deadline. I know clearly the principles of the university and always behave myself as an accountable man, but this week I don’t what happened I did not have the time to submit my learning journal task on time. I hope that won’t produced back and I’ll try my best to things on time. -Reflect upon the topics in this unit which are of most interest to you. During that unit that has just passed, there are several topics that were so interesting, that they were worth to reflect upon in order get the best of them. One of the topics that kept my mind during the unit was the one of human conception. The way that human being is conceived in the mother’s womb, it could difficult for someone to imagine such thing. The woman, by means of a process called ovulation get free an egg that will meet with one of the several millions of sperm that a man ejaculate, and since then, the process of getting a new born begins. People could ask questions such: how the bones get form, the hair etc. but we should say that all of the form from the meeting of two cells. Another concept that has kept my attention through the reading is the one of teratogens which may be any harmful stuff that can affect badly the baby while being inside of the mother. Those stuff are usually...

...management A. Before you can learn about how the polarity management model works, you must first be able to understand what polarities actually are. Polarities are issues that are continuous and you can’t solve them or avoid them. Polarities are opposites which function best when both are present to balance with each other (Johnson, 1998). It is important to remember that a polarity is different than a problem, because a problem is something you solve and a polarity is something that you address and manage (Caldwell, 2011). Since this is the case you must find a different approach to deal with polarities or else things will just end up worse than they were. When using the polarity management model properly, it will make it much easier for those in charge to manage the polarities that they are dealing with. It also works the best when you It might be a little confusing at first for someone new to use the polarity management model efficiently, but it will help out tremendously when they do figure it out and they can handle the polarities they acknowledged. The most important thing to remember though is that polarities can’t be solved or fixed; the only way to deal with them is to find the best way to manage them efficiently (Caldwell, 2011). 2. ...Godless is the book that I read for this report. It is about some weird kids who decide to be water tower worshippers, so they start a religion called Chutengodianism. The book was written by Pete Hautman, who writes a lot of books and once ate 22 hot dogs in 15 minutes. The first thing that happens in Godless is that Jason gets clocked by a guy named Henry, who is smaller than him. Jason gets the idea then to start a religion, Pretty soon his friend Shin is into the religion too. Shin is even weirder than Jason and Henry. The best part is where they all climb up to the top of the water tower at night and go swimming and almost drown, and Henry falls off, and they all get caught. There is a lot of stuff about being Catholic in this book, which Jason is but doesn't like. They are always arguing about God and stuff, which might make some people uncomfortable, especially the part about cannibalism. There is also a bunch of stuff about snails and comic books. I thought it was a pretty good book considering that it is mostly about things that I am not interested in, and it had no sword fights or interesting creatures or cyborgs like on Terminator which is really cool. The only really amazing part in it was when the water tower speaks to Jason in his sleep and tells him to slay his parents. The book is not what you think it will be, because in the end the main kid, Jason, doesn't figure anything out, really. Instead he just gets more confused that ever, but at least his dad...

There are many responsibilities that police officer need to do like Running a county jail, they need to do this to keep people from doing bad stuff like dealing drugs and sneaking stuff in, another thing law enforcers can do are to executing arrest warrants, they do this to tell the person or their lawyer what they did and why...
