...patient doctor relationship is a bond that is different from any other. Friendship, privacy, trust and empathy are all equally involved and should be respected. This is usually only achieved with face to face, in office patient contact, facing a physician, with whom one has been a patient for a great length of time. Considering the time invested into finding a doctor that feels comfortable it is no wonder why leaving ones doctor might be a bit stressful. With advancements in recent technology one does not have to ever experience the heartbreak that comes from leaving a doctor. An increasing number in the medical community are beginning to use the internet to complete virtual appointments with their clients meaning that one could truly see their physician from anywhere in the world. This wonderful idea had one huge flaw, the fact that there are certain nuances, such as taking a patient’s vitals that only a personal doctor’s visit could ensure. E.M.T seeks to bridge the gap between virtual and office visits with its newest product, “Hello Doc.” “Hello Doc” is a mobile application that encompasses the need for personal contact with the physician and the ever growing need for time management, with the additional home use medical attachments such as thermometers, stethoscopes’, and blood pressure cuffs This cutting edge software uses the blue tooth enabled medical devices to transmit patient information to the physician to be analyzed for further diagnosis. Once the analysis...

...Jim Crow laws separated African Americans and whites in public areas and gave African Americans unequal social, political and economic opportunities. African Americans faced literacy tests, poll taxes and the grandfather clauses. Literacy tests were administered to African Americans to prevent them from voting. African Americans had to pay a poll tax that was requirement in order to vote, usually the amount was not payable for African Americans. The Grandfather clause allowed people who did not meet the registration requirement to vote if they or their ancestor voted before 1867, no African was allowed to vote before than. African Americans faced segregation in public affairs such as transportation. All railway companies were required to provide separate but equal accommodations in Louisiana. In Louisiana, all passengers were assigned seats in coaches based on the passenger’s race (Doc...

...work itself out for a few weeks. By the end of the month, I was ready to see some health care professionals. I called my doc, who gave me (reluctantly) a referral to an ENT for December. She wanted me to wait two more weeks, but I told her that by the time I got the referral and made an appointment, it would already be two weeks, and if my ear was better by then, no harm, no foul...right? I also believe in alternative medicine, so in early December, I saw my chiropractor, my acupuncturist, and the big guns, the ENT. My chiro said I had a systemic yeast infection, and put me on a Candida diet for months. Over the course of four months, I saw him 12 times. I was cracked, adjusted, lasered, chanted to, and given lots of vitamins and herbs. The treatments and the diet made no difference in my hearing or the ringing. I had a total of three acupuncture treatments over the course of three months, to clear up congestion and bought lots of herbal stuff. The acupuncturist poked me in the head, the hands, the face, and the feet. My congestion is less substantive, but it made no difference in my hearing or the ringing. The ENT told me I had some hearing loss (duh) and to come back in three or four months, possibly for an MRI to see if there was a tumor or something else going on. Three months later I called for the MRI and he again made me come in for a hearing test, which showed a little bit more loss, not much, and again...

You will find ten fragments in the paragraph. Calling In Sick 1It takes skill to call in sick to work with a phony excuse. 2And not sound like a faker. 3First of all, you must be sure to speak directly to your boss. 4Not to a co-worker or secretary. 5If you talk to a person who doesn’t like you. 6The individual may “forget” to give the boss the message. 7Making you look totally irresponsible. 8Or the person may tell the boss, in a sarcastic tone, “Terry is sick again.” 9Transmitting the message that you are definitely faking. 10Second, being careful not to ruin your excuse by overacting or exaggerating. 11For example, coughing on the phone like a tuberculosis victim or sneezing after every word. 12Also, don’t tell the boss that you have a complicated disease. 13Such as bronchitis combined with pneumonia. 14A simple excuse sounds more truthful, so stick with the flu or a stomach virus. 15The most important technique involved in calling in sick is making sure you don’t get caught. 16You must, for instance, be willing to stay home all...

Yet how to motivate learners in the classroom continues to be one of the most puzzling problems confronting the teacher. Let’s look in on Professor Thomas’s learning seminar as his students discuss the topic of motivation. Betty: Well, it seems to me that motivation is becoming the scapegoat for all learning failures. That’s all I hear at school ... “These kids just aren’t motivated” or “This kid just hasn’t any motivation.” And all the other...

...involvement inVietnam, McGovern proposed to “spend all that is necessary for prudent nationaldefense, and no more… [to] conserve our limited resources” (Doc H). He was amongmany who, at that point in the war, recited an all too familiar rhetoric: it was a mistakefor the US to have gotten involved in Vietnam in the first place; however, we’re therenow so we need to either win or get out. McGovern asserted that the military was wastingmoney and manpower, and they needed to rethink their efficiency, size, and weaponstrategies. Money and the economy played a huge role in all of McGovern’s wartimeopposition speeches, especially following the era of the New Deal. The 1960s quickly became a decade associated with hippies, young protesters, and the famous slogan “make love, not war.” Many songs emerged from these younggroups, such as “I-Feel-Like-I’m-Fixin’-To-Die” (Doc B), expressing the popular...

...EGLIGENCE: P can successfully sue D for common-law negligence if she can prove four elements: (1) duty of care; (2) breach of the duty of care; (3) causation; and (4) her damages, injuries or losses are not too remote. (1) Duty of care (DOC):Did D owe P a DOC? (consider RF type of person) PHYSICAL INJURY:P suffered physical injury, so we apply the Lord Atkin’s ‘Neighbour Test’: : which is we owe a duty of care to people who are so closely and directly affected by my act or omission that, as a reasonable person, I should think about those people when I am about to act or to not act . The law applicable is stated in the case of Donoghue v. Stevenson which states a defendant owed a duty of care if it was reasonably foreseeable (RF), prior to the accident, that its actions could cause harm to the type of person as the plaintiff. (write down the logic of actions, from the careless act to what and to what… then conclude it is FR…) When A carelessly drove 150km/hour on his motorcycle at noon through Phu My Hung, it was RF that pedestrians such as B could be injured, because…) the human brain's reaction and response time to visual images is not fast enough to safely control a heavy, hard steel motorcycle at such high speed, and when it goes out of control, the laws of motion and inertia will cause it to veer off the road and hit anything including people near the road, whose bodies are soft and will sustain injury upon impact. Also, at noon in Phu My Hung there are many pedestrians...

...Critique: BTTF Mathew Peppersack ENG 225 Introduction to Film Professor Ryan Ogrodnik March 2, 2015 Critique: BTTF To critique a film is to analyze the substance of what makes up the movie. The story and its plot, characters, technical choices for scenes, and the overall production that the film shown to give the audience a final product. The number of people who visited the movie theater to watch it does not determine greatness of the film; or the amount of money the movie studio made after the budget was settled. A movie is great if it reached a large percentage of the population and that population determined through criticism and good reviews that the movie is worthy to be seen for a second, third, or fourth time. Another justification of greatness is if the film warrants purchasing the film on Blu-ray disc or a digitally copy to put on your computers hard drive. I will be critiquing the 1985 film Back to the Future starring Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, Crispin Glover, and Thomas F. Wilson. These are the main characters of the film for which the story revolves around. Michal J. Fox plays the main character, Marty McFly, who travels back in time in a Delorean time machine invented by Christopher Lloyd’s character, Dr. Emmett Brown. Lea Thompson plays Lorraine McFly, Marty’s mother, Crispin Glover plays George McFly, Marty’s father. Thomas F. Wilson is the antagonist as Biff Tannen. There are plenty of supporting roles throughout the film but...

...Business Analysis Ford Motor Company Business Analysis Ford Motor Company Ford Motor Company is on a strong financial footing. This is determined by reviewing Ford’s financial statements and when those statements are compared against other industry leaders. Ford has shown revenue and profit increases over the last three years and increased its available cash flow during that time as well. Those are three markers that show how Ford has solidified its financial standing from its week position of three years ago. Ford’s revenue in 2011 was 136,264 billion dollars with 20,213 billion as profit. (Corporate.ford.com/doc/2011 pg 86) General Motor’s revenue was higher for 2011 with 150,276 billion but only reported 9,190 billion in profits. (gm.com/content/dam/gmcom/COMPANY pg 75) Chrysler Group’s revenue for 2011 was 55 billion and profits of 183,000 million. (chryslergroupllc.com/Investor, pg2) Ford was not the top revenue producer in 2011 but had far stronger profits when compared to the other members of the big three US automakers. Ford also had the strongest cash flow of the three with billion. Ford’s cash flow was up 2.35 billion from 2010. ( Corporate.ford.com/doc/2011pg 88) Reviewing Ford’s financial numbers it can be determined that Ford is trending up in all the vital categories determining financial health. The balance sheet is showing that sales are up and operating costs are being controlled well since the net profit is continuing to rise as well. GM had...

...During this movement African Americans wanted to end segregation. They protested in marches and joined small groups which later became bigger. All the fight they did to pursue their goal was nonviolence. Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee volunteered to register them to vote in 1960-1960 in Mississippi. By having African American to vote, they would gain power and they were a step closer to be equal as everyone else. There was an increase of African American who registered through the time.(Doc E) On the march to Selma, Martin Luther King Jr. and Southern Christian Leadership Conference focus was to have more African American register to vote but they had a hard time because they made them recite the literacy test. He would protest without using violence which made him get far in accomplishing his goals. The white community voted for George Wallace to become president so he can forbid African American to gain more equality since he was a racist person. Martin Luther gave a speech on the Washington March to be able to end segregation and discrimination. He wanted his protest to go worldwide so people can observe how they were treated and help them gain what they want.(Doc F)...
