Martin Luther King once said, “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.” This quote reflects the behaviors of Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple. Cook was born in Alabama on November 1st, 1960. He earned his Bachelor’s degree at Auburn and went on to receive a degree in business at Duke University. Following those years, Cook worked at IBM and other companies, making a name for himself in the technology world. He commenced working at Apple in 1998 and moved up the ranks and eventually took over for Steve Jobs in 2011. Although he was always integral at the company, since Jobs’s passing, Cook has had a major impact on Apple as a leader. I believe that Tim Cook should be the Person of the Year based on these three characteristics: humanitarianism, assertiveness and balance mindedness. One of Tim Cook’s greatest attributes is his humanitarianism. One precedent of this is Cook’s …show more content…
At the end of his first year in office, he was one of the top CEOs in the country, according to theweek.com. That says a lot about how Tim Cook is viewed. As I said stated earlier Tim Cook’s employees like him better they said then Steve Jobs. He was a very practical leader and very honest which employees love about him. That means he has the trust of his workers, which benefits Apple. Another example is when Tim Cook took over as CEO in 2011 the Apple stock was 53.740 and in a year it was at 118.970. That's how you improve a company in a year. Tim Cook’s balanced mind has fueled Apple to take steps that it has never taken before. Humanitarianism, assertiveness, and a balance mind help shape up Tim Cook. He is a very practical leader with a very sensible mind.
