Tim LaHaye’s Left Behind is a Christian fiction book detailing the events immediately preceding and following the Rapture. In a lengthy series of books, Left Behind is the pivot point in which the believers are raptured into heaven and those who did not believe remain on the earth, with disastrous consequences. In its writing style, LaHaye’s book maintains a sense of mystery that causes the reader to wonder what will happen next, even if the reader is a believer themselves. The characters, however, are somewhat uninspired. The plot, however, is quite interesting; if the author had written the characters to produce the same level of interest, the book overall may have been a much more enjoyable read.
