Equipment: • Motion detector • Pasco GLX • Cart • String • Pulley • Hanging Weights & Metal Cubes • Ramp • Ruler Procedure: Experiment 1: 1. Weigh and record the mass of the cart (this will be kept constant for all trials) then the mass of the cart with all the hanging weights on top of it. 2. Take 1 hanging weight off the cart and attach it to the end of the string on the cart with the other hanging weights still on top. 3. Place the cart on the ramp in front of the motion detector. 4. Set the GLX using the correct units for the y and x axis for graphing. Then measure 20cm away from the motion detector, place the cart there and start the GLX and release the cart from 20cm at the same time. Stop the GLX and the cart few centimeters before the cart reaches to the end of the ramp for precise data. 5. Repeat steps 2, 3 and 4 by adding 1 hanging weight to the string of the cart with the previous hanging weight already on the string until all hanging weights are used and not left on top of the cart. Obviously the second person was ready to take action and had the courage to ask me out. There is a difference between dating and hanging out and both girls and boys value dating. Dating and hanging out are two completely different things. Young Adults need to stop replacing dating with hanging out and bring back the value of dating. The way my brother, Daniel met his fiancé is a perfect example of Dating. Dan is 27 and had just gone through a bad break up with the girl he thought he was supposed to marry. He had met up for conference with his friends where they discussed all their plans and trips for the summer. In the April session of General Conference, they stressed to young single adults of the need to date, find their eternal companion, and get married. They were built in the ancient city-state of Babylon, near present-day Al Hillah, Babil, in Iraq. Nebuchadnezzar II ordered the gardens to be built during his reign of 43 years between the years of 604-562 BC. He built it to help his homesick wife, Amyitis, who was from Media, overcome her depression. She missed the gardens and mountains of her homeland. The Hanging Gardens of Babylon impressed travelers and historians in ancient times. Although they no longer exist, the idea of such a magnificent garden still peaks the curiosity of people today. Architecturally, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon were an impressive. The gardens were quadrilateral in shape. Stairways went to the highest terraced roofs. The plants on these terraces overhung stone column supports. Arched vaults were placed on cubed fountains. The fountains provided humidity that acted as a form of air conditioning. The shade from the trees also helped keep cool the gardens. The garden rose in close planted levels to create man-made mountain greenery. The gardens were supported by a detailed structure of stone pillars, brick walls, and palm tree trunk beams. ...A Hanging Commentry The poem A Hanging has a very odd mood for what is happening in the poem. The poem talks about people in jail and an inmate on his way to be put to death. The prisoners do not show any sign of remorse after the inmate is put to death and gone on with there everyday activities, some even laughing and having a good time. The author uses many literary elements in the story such as imagery, simile, mood, foreshadowing thought and climax. The author uses these literary elements in order to provide the reader with a better understanding of the poem and to decribe how the prisoners handle the hanging. Orwell uses a bountiful amount of imagery throughout the poem. He uses the imagery to let the reader depict a picture and get a better understanding of the poem. One example of imagery in the poem is in the eighth paragraph "At each step his muscles slid neatly into place, the lock of hair on his scalp danced up and down, his feet printed themselves on the wet gravel." This quote is giving a sample of the tremendous amout of imagery in the poem. A praying mantis was in charge of the religious ceremonies, because ‘praying’ is in the creature’s name and prayer is linked to religion.
