Timothy Gettle. I do not know his middle name, age, or birthday. A majority of the time we spend together is spent getting on each other's nerves. Yet, if someone were to ask me who has most impacted me during my high school career I would without a doubt respond with his name. In the time I have spent with Mr. Gettle, he has taught me how to conquer my fears, how to be a leader , and most importantly how to be confident in myself. It all began in my eighth grade year taking the required Agricultural Science class taught by Mr. Timothy Gettle. At this point in my life I was incredibly shy and probably said a total of two words the first week in his class, Then, it came time for our first assignment, Every student had to do a speech in front of the entire class. I was deathly afraid, as I am sure most of the others were as well. Afterall, public speaking is one of the most common fears.It was awful, and even though that one experience did not cure me of my fear, Mr. Gettle made me do it again and again. Eventually, I even started doing speech competitions, Mr. Gettle helped me overcome my fear and open my eyes to the fact that what I thought to be terrifying was not so bad afterall.…show more content… FFA is an agricultural leadership organization that with the help of Mr. Gettle as my advisor has literally changed my life, as cheesy as that sounds. FFA has allowed me countless opportunities to better myself as a person. Throughout my time in FFA, Mr. Gettle has volun-told me to attend countless leadership conferences, interview to become an FFA officer, and participate in public speaking competitions. During my tenth grade year I became the chapter Reporter, in eleventh grade I was the chapter Vice President and this year I have the honor of being my chapter’s President. Throught these experience that Mr. Gettle has pushed me to explore I have been able to grow exponentially as a
