IS 471 Policy Development and Security Issues
Lab 4 (Due October 22, 2014)
Introduction
In any company, a security policy helps to mitigate the risks and threats the business encounters. However, unless a company happens to be in the information security industry, the task of identifying, assessing, and categorizing the myriad of risks can be an overwhelming one.
Thankfully, a company’s IT infrastructure can be divided in a logical manner to more easily sort the risks. These divisions are the seven IT domains. The purpose of the seven domains of a typical IT infrastructure is to help organize the roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities for risk management and risk mitigation.
In this lab, you will identify known risks, threats, and vulnerabilities, and you will determine which domain of a typical IT infrastructure is affected. You will then discuss security policies to address each identified risk and threat within the seven domains of a typical IT infrastructure. You will next determine which appropriate security policy definition will help mitigate the identified risk, threat, or vulnerability. You will organize your results into a framework that can become part of a layered security strategy.
Learning Objectives
Upon completing this lab, you will be able to:

Interview

...Other sources “Some experts estimate that 45 percent of those leaving foster care become homeless within a year.” –www.liftingtheveil.org “In a new phenomenon compared with past surveys, almost 11 percent of the youths said they were homeless and living on the streets before coming to shelters.”-www.liftingtheveil.org Interview I have known Daniel Simmons since I was a first year student in high school, in the town of Corona, CA. He’s a tall (about 6’3”, he revealed), slightly overweight, Mexican-American wearing black, horn-rimmed glasses, jeans, and a red and blue Aeropostale shirt, with his washed out, green Army style jacket strung across the back of his chair. Diet Coke and crepe sitting on the table, I sat across from him, laptop at hand. I sat down with Danny and we discussed what it was like to grow up in a foster home. Now, something you must understand is that Danny was not a foster child, but he lived in a home which was always accumulating more children. Having to meet and entertain new children all the time, I would think, would have a drastic impact on the way Danny was raised and the certain parental aspects that arise from growing up in a foster home. It’s a brisk, Tuesday morning in the Crossroads, chilly outside, but warmer inside by the heat the bodies are releasing. Questions 1. Do you remember the first child that came and stayed with your family, when your home first started as a foster home? -“Not really. It’s been so long, ya know? To...

Jefferson Wears a Tie

...defend himself in front his bosses but only let’s all his emotions go on the inside. He feels his work is totally pointless. One day he shows up for work in a really nice looking suit and is sure to get promoted but he feels it’s an hollow victory even if he would get the job, because everything would be the same, except for his job title. Then he wakes up in his bed at the weekend he feels totally empty and is using most of his time to think about other things than work. He tries to convince the “happiness tribunal” that he has a very rich and colourful life. At the end he gets fed up with everything, and shows up at work in a fluffy green pyjama, and enters his boss’s office. Jefferson evolves from being a very polite man, with control of himself. He sees himself as a part of the working mass. He tries to impress his bosses by doing his work as fast as possible, and by wearing nice clothes, he goes to great lengths to get a clap on the shoulder. But he ends up having what seems like a nervous breakdown, showing up at work in his pyjamas. His work environment seems like a place where nothing really matters in a way that there are so many job titles, and the boss has no idea about what the employees are doing, or how they are doing. There doesn’t seem to be any kind of social life. His fellow workers and even his boss are dreaming and talking about vacations and seem to want to get away from that place. I think that most people adapt to the norm because it’s the easiest thing...

Art and Theatre

...Fatima Pootrakul – Theatre Management 1- How will you go about obtaining property? What will you need to obtain this property? We would need to acquire the rights to produce the play “Ghetto Klown”. Team awesome would contact John Leguizamo himself and his attorneys. This would be easy to obtain since our good friend Luis Guzman worked closely with John in the past and has kept in contact with him since. We would need small rights since it is a non-dramatic play. If “Ghetto Klown” has musical intros or segways then we would have to obtain a license from either ASCAP, BMI or SESAC. At the end of the day, we will obtain grand rights to avoid any law suits or injunctions with copyright infringement. Even though we will have the assurance from Mr. Leguizamo himself in that he controls the rights we need to produce the play, Team Awesome trusts no one and can easily fall into a false sense of security. Better safe than sorry! 2- Will you need actors? Dancers? Or both? If so what performers-related unions will you have to deal with? Provide some examples of rules and regulations the union dictates. Since we are using the one-man show “Ghetto Klown” all we would need is one actor. The Actors' Equity Association (AEA) is an American labor union representing the world of live theatrical performance, as opposed to film and television performance. However, performers appearing on live stage productions without a book or through-storyline (vaudeville, cabarets, circuses) may be...

The Osage Firebird Passage Analysis

...New York City Ballet. President Eisenhower named her “Woman of the Year” in 1953. That year, Oklahoma declared June 29 “Maria Tallchief Day.” The Osage tribe named her the woman of two worlds, named that by her grandmother. When she performed The Firebird, the audience said that she truly became a bird of fire. Some believe that she remembered her grandmother telling the tale of the fire spirits. She displayed hard work and cultural heritage, with her tales of fire spirits and working for all those titles. Throughout the story Maria Tallchief displayed many acts of determination, hard work, and her cultural background. She always dreamed of becoming a ballerina, she knew she would become one. Following her passion, it led her to many great things, including her Osage title. She became a world known ballerina, and she was teased because of her background. If you truly believe you can do something, and I know this sounds like a cat poster, but just “Believe.” (Cuz everything is awesome!) ...

Art Midterm Paper

...saw this artwork, I just thought ‘what is this?’ In other words, I didn’t know what this means. It looks like some figures which I can see in math course-book in middle school. In addition to this feeling, after looking the title, I was curious how the name and this artwork can be matched. Usually when we thought about the happiness, the expression for this feeling is something bright. After reading brochure and talking with Prof. LEE, I realized that the artist wanted to criticize our way of living. When I did first online session and project for creative practitioner, creativity is related with changing perspective within understandable context. The artist broke ‘normal’ image for happiness in our mind and looked the way in which modern people live in critical manner. I think this artist is also creative practitioner in these contexts. It means this perspective is somewhat different for usual notion of happiness and in the way that criticism, it is understandable by expressing it in stacked of same pattern cubes. In this museum, I think there are not many artworks, but each of them is quite interesting. Lots of them usually expressed something criticism for our world or our social conditions. And I felt that the art and creativity is not something awesome. What I mean is that there are the newspaper artworks, neon sign artwork, the artwork which used...

...The exhibit that I chose was in my home town of Delphos, OH. The Delphos Area Art Gallery (DAAG) had a photography exhibit. Most of the art work was anonymous which I found interesting to no be able to put a face or name to the work of art. Specific piece of work that I enjoyed was a photo that I did not understand at first. It was in black in white and rather small. I passed by it quickly not to take a second glance. I came back to it towards the end of the show to study the picture more closely. The title of the picture was Chaos and this picture was awesome. The picture was of a living room with children, toys, laundry, a husband reading the newspaper with a child climbing on him, and many other messes. The story with this picture is that it was a random shot that a mother took because she wanted to show how crazy her life looked in a picture. It was not a staged picture but it looked like it because it looked so chaotic. The picture Chaos was outstanding because it made me realize that our everyday boring lives are pieces of art. We may not realize it in the moment but if we capture a moment of our everyday lives it really is a piece of beautiful and unique art. The was a picture called...
