Throughout my essay I encountered many issues, both minor and major. One of the most repeated minor issues found in my essay was a lack of commas in some places in which they were necessary. When explaining how thievery is what seals Rudy and Liesel’s friendship I wrote that thievery “demonstrates… the trust that they have for one another and shows how either one of them is willing to take risks”, forgetting a comma after the word “another”. Again, when I began a sentence with “To Liesel”, I did not notice the absence of a necessary comma following it. For the most part, these errors were based purely off inattention and lack of in depth proofreading. In order to reduce plot summary in my future works, I will focus on my argumentation of points/thesis. Rather than presenting a lot of plot summary as my evidence, I will limit myself to one or two lines of evidence and proceed by explaining the relevance of this evidence to my point in depth. This will provide more writing space dedicated to my argument which was wasted on useless information that the reader already knew. With regard to the switches between the past in the present tense, it is a matter of paying closer attention to the tenses when going through the editing and proofreading process.
