1. Adaptability
2. Harmony
3. Consistency
4. Restorative
5. Relator Adaptability is when people, such as myself, prefer to “go with the flow”. We tend to be “now people who take things as they come and discover the future one day at a time. To me this is a very good strength to have because with this strength I find I can perform will in stressful situations where shifting priorities and changing plans are usually happening. I tend to be a flexible person and not easily flustered by unexpected events or problems. However this strength can also be a negative one because I tend to mentally rehearse what I plan to do in various cases and usually I think the worst case scenarios before they even occur. Majority of the time they don’t even happen like I think. In my daily life this strength prepares me to deal with whatever happens wither good or bad. My second strength is Harmony. Harmony is when you don’t enjoy conflict; rather, you seek areas of agreement. This strength is good because by having this strength it usually helps you think through problems or situations step by step. The bad part to me about this strength is that I tend to be more practical than creative and I myself would …show more content…
Consistency is being aware of the need to treat people the same by setting up clear rules and following through with them. Like all strengths, Consistency has both its good and bad advantages. The good thing about Consistency is that you follow rules and administer policies without showing favoritism to any person or group. People with this strength tend to go out of their way to treat every person they meet with the same amount of respect, care, concern, and hospitality. The bad thing about this strength is having people to try to take advantage of your kindness. This strength is used in my daily life because at work I expect people to share an equal load of the work and not give any one person more to do than

Phases of Strategic Management

...to propose the following year’s budget. Projects are proposed on the basis of very little analysis, with most information coming from within the firm. The sales force usually provides the small amount of environmental information. Such simplistic operational planning only pretends to be strategic management, yet it is quite time consuming. Nor- mal company activities are often suspended for weeks while managers try to cram ideas into the proposed budget. The time horizon is usually one year. Phase 2—Forecast-based planning: As annual budgets become less useful at stimulating long- term planning, managers attempt to propose five-year plans. At this point they consider projects that may take more than one year. In addition to internal information, managers gather any available environmental data—usually on an ad hoc basis—and extrapolate current trends five years into the future. This phase is also time consuming, often involving a full month of managerial...

... MGT/498 – Strategic Management Strategic Management Process The strategic management process is a philosophical approach to business that consists of four basic elements: environmental scanning, strategy formulation, strategy implementation, and evaluation and control (Wheelen & Hunger, 2010). This paper examines these elements, why this process is important, and discusses the strategic management process of Microsoft Corporation. Environmental Scanning Environmental scanning involves an in-depth analysis of the factors that can affect the goals of the company (Clayton, 2013). This information is disseminated to the key people within the company and is often conducted through SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) Analysis. The strengths and weaknesses form the internal environment of the company and look closely at the company’s structure, resources, and culture; whereas, the opportunities and threats are the variables that comprise the external environment (Wheelen & Hunger, 2010). Strategy Formulation Once the opportunities and threats have been analyzed, long-term plans for their effective management are formulated. It is within this step that the company’s mission is clearly set to achieve the desired objectives (Wheelen & Hunger, 2010). During this stage, any issues are prioritized prior to the development of the strategy, and contingency plans created. Economic environments are continually changing; therefore, these alternative...

VIA Character Strengths

...In order to determine my strengths this week I completed the VIA Survey of Character Strengths. In 1999, Dr. Peterson and Dr. Siegelman collaborated to create the VIA survey to help us with our understanding of psychological strengths. These doctors both had similar hopes, on creating a pathway for positive psychology and dramatically changing the traditional approach to diagnosis and treatment. The VIA survey is used to find virtues, character strengths and situational habits as these are core components agreed upon by Sigelman and Peterson. It has been found through the research and the VIA Institute on Character, which provides access to raw data for use in hundreds of research studies. These studies have provided us with strong evidence...

Narmer Palette Analysis

...This palette has a distinct shield shape and appears to be decorated on both sides. I could infer that this shield shape is to demonstrate strength of a real shield; it also holds significance with both sides crafted and carved. With no visible cracking along the edges, the palette holds its longevity. The palette seems to have been distinguished from one piece of stone with a blue-green hue. Knowing the funerary practices of the Egyptians and its solidarity to the arts, the Narmer Palette could be from Narmer’s funeral grounds; this would explain its preservation. Starting on the front side of the Narmer Palette, with the largest image: the viewer’s attention goes straight to the most prevalent form. He stands as the largest figure with a beard. This beard is carved distinctly and different than that of the man in his clasp; the beard may be honorary and hold status. This belief is...

Gfa Limited

...Strengths: (i) The main strength for GFA Limited is that all its directors are proficient in the exploitation field. Among, they have two famous mining tycoons: Luca Pacioli FAICD being the chair and John Mellis, the CPA and company secretary. (ii) They also have the skilled geologist, Simone Stevin and Mamadou Soumaré who is the director. Furthermore, the second strength is that GFA is affluent, having approximately $ 4m (AUD) in bank. Therefore, they can invest a lot in equipment and technology improving the company further. Weaknesses: (i) The weaknesses present are that the early amateur explorers are left without guidance. They would not know where and how to start their work and thus we can analyse that no actual work has started on prospects. GFA has slow decision making process. (ii) The other weakness is to finance the director with maximum usage of $ 4m (AUD). This may lead to inaccurate accounts and budgets being prepared. Finally incorrect decisions can be taken which can be fatal for the company. Opportunities: With the gold exploration, leases situated in Mauritiana and Senegal, these can be taken as an effective opportunity. This location can be explored for gold and other metals since there is a lack of uranium in the Kintyre area of West Australia. Moreover, these regions still have their originality- not being scrutinised by modern methods yet. Threats: In the 1950s, French explorers investigated this area lastly. Thus, these French explorers...
