Initially, Africans and Europeans both benefited economically from participation in the Transatlantic slave trade. Europeans and Africans had many different reasons as to why they both agreed to join the Slave Trade. Africans joined the slave trade because they had many slaves already to be sold. This trade eventually led to many awful things, including King Affonso of the Kongo Kingdoms people getting treated like objects and also getting kidnapped.
