...Persuasive Essay My Dream Vacation to Hawaii Ronna Farrell Hawaii is the land of beautiful beaches, impressive waterfalls and so many different cultures. While you may think a trip to Hawaii is too expensive, I feel traveling is one of the most important things we can do as a family. Hawaii has so much to offer us including traveling between 3 primary islands and exploring what each island has to offer like hiking the waterfalls and visiting the Pearl Harbor memorial. You would love the surfing, snorkeling and all the water activities that come along with a trip to Hawaii. Even though all of you may feel a trip to Hawaii is too expensive, I feel traveling is one of the most important things I can do for the family. I don’t feel you can put a price tag on the quality time you get when you go on vacation and have the chance to make so many lasting memories. Taking the family on vacation to a place like Hawaii gives them first hand information and the knowledge on how other people live and the cultures they live by. How will you ever be able to see and explore Hawaii unless you open up your mind to all the possibilities? The possibilities are endless when you have 3 great islands to explore. The first one we would be the visiting “The Heart of Hawaii” also known as Oahu is home to the war memorial Pearl Harbor, the USS Battleship Missouri, unforgettable Luau’s and wonderful cuisine. Hawaiian Vacation Research Paper

...ENG101 Lesson 5 In my search for planning a Hawaiian vacation I first took to google.com knowing that I would have a large range of choices. In doing so I found GovisitHawaii.com. I learned that the site is geared towards first time travelers to Hawaii. The site was started by a vacationer who first experience in Hawaii was poorly done by an online travel agency. Her excursions were not only the wrong ones but they were ones that were physically impossible for her to even attempt. Her trips to other islands were also poorly booked. The best that she could say is that the staff, and locals were pleasant most of the time. While expressing her unbiased position she gives advice, not direction or recommendations. But site the allows for travelers to post their pictures, experiences and recommendations. I used US Major Dailies in search of more sources of a Hawaiian vacation. The first thing listed is a great article by Jeremy W Peters. He first describes how he agonized over planning his several days of vacation in Hawaii. With his article, he describes his March vacation in Hawaii in a way that you see it as he does and you experience what he and the other active 30 somethings do. He tells how it feels waking to the warmth of Hilo and then ending the night to its higher and freezing...

This present is among the most treasured I can remember and I still have that soft as tissue paper lamb in my room. 1999 Christmas is the best time for kids to receive the dream gift they have wanted all year. This year is when I got all my toy-like desires met. My dad and older sister always liked to play with my new things so I unwrapped everything and left all the toys in the box for five weeks and looked upon them with excitement and yet I had no desire to play with them. 2000 First remembered trip to Hawaii that I ever took. This trip I received my first skateboard which I had developed a newfound interest in since watching my cousins skateboard on their assorted ramps. I also learned how to surf on this trip which made me who I am today. 2002 At seven years old, nothing interests boys more than war and guns. This is the Christmas when I was given a Red Rider pellet gun and a tool belt so my life from then on consisted of breaking things and shooting things. 2005 I have been fishing before this time but my father and I packed up early and went to our favorite lake and caught a multitude of fish and he showed me a .22 rifle which was going to be mine after today. 2008 This is the year when I moved a shocking 4 miles from my old house to my current house. Middle School Vacation

...This is the last vacation of the year, class," explained Mrs. Spivey. It is the last year of middle school, so they take us on a ginormous field trip, Hawaii. The trip has a pricey cost of about two thousand four hundred dollars. "Beep Beep, Beep Beep." It is three thirty in the morning, and we have to grab our luggage and sleepily headed for the airport. Our flight leaves at five a.m. We have to pick up a couple friends on the way, so we have to leave extra early. After we pick up my friend we are going to Chick-fill-a. The crispy chicken melts in my mouth, the sprite just sparkles in the moonlight, and the saltiness of the waffle fries makes my mouth water. "Welcome Powerdsville Middle School, we are pleased you are flying American today. We hope you have an excellent ride!" Politely spoke the flight attendant. Fortunately, on the fourteen hour plane ride I get to with Makayla T. and Aniston B. Makayla has brown hair, an exciting personality, and very rambunctious. Aniston has, brown hair and she is very tamed. Since we are flying for so long they let us rent out iPads so we can play battleship over the ocean. ...holidays because during our holidays we can relax and have fun. We get enough time to travel, play our favorite sports and practice our hobbies. Below I will tell you about my last holiday. I had always dreamed about going to Hawaii. It was the evening of April 1st, 2003 when my husband called me from his work and told me that we are going to Hawaii for one week in our holidays next month. I couldn't believe my ears what I just heard. I asked him again if he is not making it up, but he said he already purchased tickets online and made plans. On 10th May we departed Maryland and headed towards our first destination, The Big Island of Hawaii. As soon as we reached there after a long journey, I was stunned by the beautiful scenic views that I only saw in pictures. I was totally lost in the scenic views that I forgot to blink my eyes We stayed in the 5-star hotel in front of the beach. Next day we hired a helicopter for a trip to see volcano. It was simply amazing. We stayed in The Big Island for 4 days, and then we went to the island of Maui for 4 days. We did so many activities which included Jet Ski, Scuba diving, Parasailing etc. We also watched the sunrise of Kalekala's summit, it was very romantic. At last one of the best things we did in Hawaii was to drive on the Hana Highway. It was the most amazing and spectacular experience of my life that I was stunned by God's creation of a heaven-like place on earth. This highway has 600-plus turns, 50 one-lane bridges and breathtaking...

Tax Treatment for Private Jet Expenses

...intention of promoting the sales of the Find Donuts smartphone app and increasing company revenue, Alex Jones attended a computer conference in June 2010, in San Francisco. Alex also owns a Christmas tree farm in Oregon. Primary purpose of this farm being profit but not leisure, it qualifies as a business to be reported in Schedule C of Alex’s federal income tax return. In December 2010, Alex paid a visit to this farm to oversee the sales of trees. In July 2010, Alex flew to Honolulu, Hawaii to supervise the construction of two additional bedrooms to a house he owns there. He leases this house to a couple, and they operate the house as bed and breakfast (B&B). Those two newly constructed bedrooms were an addition to their B&B. For the above trips he made to San Francisco, Oregon and Hawaii in 2010, Alex used his Lear jet that he purchased in 2000 for 1 million. Each trip cost him $ 100,000. Issues: Does the operational cost for Alex Jones’ jet for the above three trips qualify to be deducted as a necessary or ordinary business expense incurred in conducting a trade or business under IRC Sec. 162? Conclusions: Alex Jones’s expense of $300,000 made in using his Lear jet to travel to three destinations in the 2010 tax year may not qualify to be deducted as a necessary and ordinary business expense. Further evidence may be required to determine the necessity and ordinance in each case. Legal Support: IRC Sec. 162 Treas. Reg. 1.162-2(a) Com. v. Lincoln...

...be covered. I listen, but I'm not sure even she believes everything she says. My name is Suri Songhai, and I live in Hawaii, the year is 1922. I came to Hawaii because my family enlisted a nakodo’s (go-between) on my behalf in my homeland of Korea, to find me a husband to take care of me. Many Korean men have been leaving our poor area outside of Okinawa to find more lucrative work. There have been quite a few who leave with the intent of working in Hawaii and building a beautiful home and having a family. There were many stories at the time of how well Korean mother's sons were doing in Hawaii, many pictures of homes, properties, beautiful beaches, gardens and animals. Additionally, a monthly check is sent from the sons to support their families back home in Korea. Many hundreds of young men have left Korea to work in the sugar cane fields in Hawaii. Families never know of the hardship their son's suffer, as the son's would never say; it would do no good to have their families worried or afraid for them. So they put on a happy face for all of the pictures, and sent as much money as they can without starving. Mothers of daughters saw these things and wanted their daughters to marry these successful men and live the beautiful life they saw in pictures. So they hired nakodo's to find suitable partners for their daughters, and would send our pictures to Hawaii, and so we were called "picture brides". My nakodo's name was Daka, and he never, ever smiled, even when my baby brother...

Personal Narrative: Oahu

...Going to Oahu, Hawaii with my family was a dream come true, and the fact that we went during the frigid winter months was wonderful. While residents in Iowa were freezing in -40 degree weather, we were soaking up the sun in the 90 degree heat. Days were spent laying in the sand, swimming in the ocean, and driving around the island. A day spent driving around the island really opened us up to the beauty the island possesses. The day spent driving lead us to North Shore, the surfing destination of the world. North Shore was definitely my favorite location in Oahu. If you look into the distance while standing on the beach, you will see massive waves crashing into the sand and knocking surfers off their boards, oblivious to what had just happened....

Marketing Plan

...Marketing Plan for Island Air: Ho`olaule`a- A Celebration Marketing Plane Time Frame: 2014-2015 Submitted by Jason Vellen from Vellux Marketing Consulting: To the Board of Directors of Island Air Submitted on: 6/7/2014 * Executive Summary Island Air is a niche player in the interisland market of Hawaii. It has a long history in the market, and its primary revenue source is achieved through selling tickets on its planes that offer transportation among five islands within Hawaii. It currently has a market share of 10% and an average load factor of 54.5% (percent of seats sold on each flight) Its main competitor is Hawaiian Air who has a market share of over 85% and a much higher load factor on their flights (1). Island Air does not have the resources to compete directly with Hawaiian Air for all travelers, rather through effective marketing which is outlined in this plan it will draw away travelers from Hawaiian Air thereby increasing its revenue by approximately 20 million dollars a year, or 30 million during the entirety of the marketing campaign. To achieve this increase in revenue both load factor and market share are going to be increased. The next year is an exciting time for Island Air and presents a great opportunity to implement a marketing plan that will achieve the above revenue growth. Island Air will be receiving brand new highly efficient Bombardier Q-400 planes that will replaced their tired and aging fleet of ATR-72 aircraft. Additionally 2015...
