One bright and shiny day, Vanessa was hanging out with her boyfriend Peter. They decided that since the weather was beautiful they should make the best of this opportunity and spend some time outdoors. Together, they decided to take a trip to some of the beautiful State Parks in Pennsylvania. Peter grabbed his car keys, while Vanessa packed some snacks and they hit the road. They started off at Evansburg State Park because it was very close to home. Vanessa and Peter knew that they wanted to visit five other State Parks, but they were unsure of which ones to pick. Whipple Dam was 256 acres, which is small compared to the others they went to so far and is located in Huntingdon County. They took a look at the map and noticed that the distance from Swatara to Whipple Dam seemed to be 72.5 miles. The driving distance was 109 miles, so they rolled down their windows, turned up their music and jammed out. As they arrived, they realized that they were starving. Vanessa was smart enough to pack snacks, so they decided to have a picnic. When they realized they were full, they decided to hurry up and move to the next park; it was getting late. They sat down, looked over the map and chose Shawnee State Park. They chose it because the name sounded similar to Vanessa’s sister’s middle name. This park is 3,983 acres large and is in Bedford County. The distance from Whipple Dam to Shawnee, shown on the map, was 60.63 miles and the driving distance was 75.8 miles. This trip wasn’t as long as the last one was. When they arrived, they decided it was time to work off all the food they ate. This meant it was time to ride bikes!
