The Tuscarora War
The Tuscarora War was held in North Carolina from 1711 to 1715. Constant land encroachments by the colonists, trade disputes, and the enslaving of the Tuscarora Indians by the settlers are what led to the beginning of this war. John Lawson, Surveyor General of North Carolina, was officially responsible for starting this war. was not doing anything about the events, and out of anger was captured and executed by Tuscarora tribe members in 1711. The war spanned four years and ended February 11, 1715. Therefore, a treaty was formed in 1718 with the North Carolina Government leading to the end of the war.
