...The Change Process at Concord Bookshop Meagan Petersen, RN BSN University of Phoenix HCS 587 The change process is a three-fold process that begins with unfreezing, followed by moving and then refreezing. These steps are based on the quasi-stationary equilibrium theory by Kurt Lewin. This theory looks at the system involved with the change and focuses the interventions of the parts of the system: the individual, group, or organization (Schein, 2010). When discussing the Concord Bookshop situation, none of the change process was completed correctly. The company failed because change was not implemented well. The unfreezing part of the change process seems to be the hardest. It requires the change agents to create disconfirmation of the participants (Schein, 2010). In regards to the Bookshop, the employees never understood that their environment was not creating profit. When unfreezing, the way the change agent involves the employees so that they understand the need for change is vital. Abruptly changing the middle-management structure without any discussion was implementing change incorrectly. The step of moving, proposed by Lewin, requires searching for solutions (Schein, 2010). When change is thrust upon a group, for example, employees, there is no input by the participants and therefore, less likelihood the change is implemented effectively. If the employees would have understood the need for...

...people making the famous eleven. They spend most of the movie preparing for the robbery and coming across small problems leading up to the night of the heist. You find out that Danny is robbing the man who is now dating his ex-wife, Tess (Julia Roberts). During the robbery they use multiple different cons to make there way to the vault. They pull a final trick on the security and prerecord the vault robbery and play it so they can escape safely. Finally, Danny gets Tess back to fulfill the Hollywood version of the movie. I chose this movie because is magnifies many of the economic terms that we have been talking about like opportunity cost and unemployment. It is also one of my favorite because it is the original heist movie, while Ocean’s twelve and thirteen aren’t up to par as the first it is still an amazing trilogy. This movie also has one of my favorite actors, Brad Pitt. I mainly liked him Troy but he still did a great. This is also one of the first movies Matt Damon was in, Matt didn’t have one of the major roles of the film but he was one of the eleven. One economic concept in the movie was unemployment and employment. In the beginning of the movie Danny is just getting out of prison, meaning he is reentering the Labor Force because he is also in working the working age population. But while he was in prison he is not considered part of the Labor force. Rusty is part time employed because he works 1 hour a day...

...Part I: Research * Hephaestus, the god of fire, especially the blacksmith's fire, was the patron of all craftsmen, mainly those working with metals. His Greek name came from the word “hearth” and “to kindle”. He was also known as Vulcan by the Romans. He was worshiped primarily in Athens, but also in other manufacturing centers. * Lame God: He was also known as the lame god because he was born weak and crippled. Hera was unsatisfied with the looks of Hephaestus, so she threw him off Mount Olympus and fell for a whole day before landing in the ocean. Hephaestus was then founded by the people of Lemnos where he was raised. * Powers/ Abilities: Like other Olympian Gods, Hephaestus is immortal. He is immune to all known worldly diseases and is safe to any injury. If he is hurt, his godly power would allow him to recover with unexpected speed. He doesn’t look old since maturity and can’t die by any usual means. Hephaestus is a master of weapons creator, inventor, sculptor and artisan. Some of his creations are the chains of Prometheus, armor of Achilles and Talos the imitation man. With help from the Cyclopes, who were his workmen and assistants, he fashioned the thunderbolts for Zeus and his scepter. He made weapons and armor for the other gods and heroes. Hephaestus has surprising abilities which can help him to realize how any object works after studying it and being able to destroy and create the object at anytime. * Family Relationship: Hephaestus was...

...Greek Culture In ancient Greece, the polytheistic religion practiced in the form of cult practices. Different cities worshipped different gods for example: Athens had Athena; Sparta had Artemis; Corinth worshipped Aphrodite; Delphi and Delos had Apollo; Olympia had Zeus. Zeus de-throned his father Cronus and Zeus banished Cronus with the Titans that fought with Cronus. Titans were also known as the elder gods. They ruled the earth before the Olympians overthrew them. The 12 Olympians were: Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hestia, Hera, Ares, Athena, Apollo, Aphrodite, Hermes, Artemis, and Hephaestus. The other gods were: Asclepius, Demeter, Persephone, Dionysus, Eros, Hebe, Eris, Helius, Thanatos, Pan, Nemesis, The Graces, The Muses, The Erinyes, and The Fates. The Greek religion spans a period from Minoan and Mycenean periods to the days of Hellenistic Greece and its ultimate conquest by the Roman Empire. The religious ideas developed and evolved over the course of history. By the time of the earliest major monument of Greek literature, the lliad attributed to Homer, a consensus had developed with respect to the major Olympian gods. The lliad seems to have been unaware of Dionysus, a god whose worship spread after it was written and who later became important enough to be named one of the 12 chief Olympian gods. The Olympian gods, also known as Heroes, were demigods. They were deified humans who were part of local legendary history; they also had local hero-cults, and often served...

...There are several tales of love and lust told throughout many generations in Greek mythology, but none can quite compare to the dark, tempting, and unwanted love story of Hades and Persephone.Legend has it; Hades fell in love with Persephone the minute he laid his beady, dark eyes on her. Persephone was relaxing in her place of sanctuary; a glade at the base of a tall mountain while Hades was taking his weekly venture on the living ground. It was then that Hades saw Persephone and he immediately loved her. He loved her for her beauty, her alluring voice, and determined spirit. Hades had heard of Persephone before, but he never knew how beautiful she truly was. Now, Hades knew her mother Demeter, goddess of the harvest, and he knew that she would never hand over Persephone’s hand in marriage. Still, the thought of returning to the Underworld without the beloved Persephone made his heart ache. So, he resolved to take her by force. When Persephone saw Hades lingering amongst the trees, she wasn’t frightened, she was more curious than anything. She didn’t recognize him, but she knew he wasn’t mortal, but he didn’t look like the other gods on Mount Olympus. When they locked gazes and his red eyes fell on hers, she shivered. Persephone went on to ask Hades his name and he replied, announcing his reign over the Underworld. As they conversed back and forth, curious about one another, Hades finally admitted that he loved Persephone with all his heart and he wouldn’t dare leave without...

...AN ILLUSTRATION OF JUSTICE AND VENGEANCE IN EUMENIDES ‘The Eumenides’ is Aeschylus’ solution for the endless cycle of the blood feud existing in his time. ‘The Eumenides’ therefore answers the unanswered questions in ‘The Choephoroi’. ‘The Eumenides’ is a play in which the Olympian gods and deities who have been relegated to the background, take the stage in the administration of justice. ‘The Eumenides’ shows that the Olympian gods or deities were connected with the polis and civilized life as such as the city’s defense. Hence Apollo defense of Agamemnon, king of the state, father of Orestes and husband of Clytemnestra is seen as the true defense of the society of Athens. His concern for order is clearly expressed in his speech to the Erinyes: ‘Then you dishonor and annul the marriage- bond Of Zeus and Hera, that confirms all marriage- bonds; And by your argument the sweetest source of joy To mortals, Aphrodite, falls into contempt. Marriage, that joins two persons in Fate’s ordinance, Guarded by justice, stands more sacred than an oath…’ (Eumenides 213ff) Apollo said marriage is the key stone of the civilized society. It is the only institution that makes the other partner a kinsman; as such if Clytemnestra’s crime goes unpunished, it becomes the end of the keystone. ‘You are unjust to persecute Orestes’ life His crime...

...Percy Jackson is a demigod, the son of the mortal Sally Jackson and the Greek god Poseidon. He has ADHD and dyslexia, allegedly because he is hardwired to read Ancient Greek and has inborn "battlefield reflexes". He has been expelled from almost every school he has ever attended. Percy's birthday is August 18.[1] In the first novel of the series, The Lightning Thief, he is twelve years old. Like other demigods, he is expected to act as the Olympian gods' agent in the mortal world, taking action when ancient laws forbid direct godly intervention, usually in the form of quests. His personality is described as "changeable like the sea" (a quality he shares with his father) and hard to predict—with the important exception that he is dangerously loyal to his friends and family. He also displays deep regret when he sees others around him being hurt, often even monsters and strangers. His "powers", which start small and develop as the books proceed, include controlling water, making hurricanes, breathing underwater, and talking to horse-like animals and fish. He also becomes an accomplished sword-fighter and leader, as well as being the head counselor of the Poseidon cabin at his demigod summer camp. Percy Jackson's fatal flaw is loyalty, which he at first does not see as a weakness. Throughout Percy Jackson & The Olympians, Percy grows more confident and courageous.[2] After The Last Olympian, the next time Percy is seen is in The Son of Neptune, the second book in the sequel series...
