...Plot 1923 Twilight is a classic love story, but the author has written it in an interesting twist between love and fantasy. I wouldn’t say that the story is original but the way the author, Stephanie Meyer explains things in it makes it special. If I’d put this book in a shelf at the library I wouldn’t really be able to decide where it should be, if it should be in the shelf of fantasy books or in the shelf in the category of love stories. Personally I’m not a big fan of fantasy books but I Twilight has got “the best of both worlds” without that’s getting out of hand. These books in the series are all written from Bella’s perspective except some parts where you can read it from Jacob’s, which I think that it makes it extra interesting. Setting The book takes place in Forks what is a small town in Washington, United States and when you read the book you’ll understand it. In Forks the population is just over 3000. It’s often raining and barely sunshine, even in summer time. The author Stephanie Meyer describes it well in the book and there’s also a reason why the books takes place there. In the book they say that vampires can’t be shown in sunshine without people would understand they’re different, because when they do their skin gets shiny, just as sparkling glitter. Characters In this book there are three main characters, Bella, Edward and Jacob. Bella is an ordinary teenage girl how falls in unconditionally in love with the boy in her school, Edward who is a vampire...

...irrevocably in love with him,” says Bella Swan in Twilight (Meyer 195). This sums up the major points of this book – vampires, love and self-control. Many parents feel that Twilight portrays unhealthy relationships and creates celebrity idol worship, both of which are believed to have a powerfully negative effect on society. These two people came together no differently than any normal human beings get together in high school, with mutual interests, like their knowledge of biology and their taste in music. Twilight encourages abstinence until marriage, and although the final novel, Breaking Dawn, has some underlying sexual themes, they purely pertain to the plot and are not described in scenes, only referenced to. Still, the books are far cleaner than what’s found in other books written for the same age range, television, movies, and magazines. The relationship between Bella and Edward is based on mostly compassion instead of the physical relationship that is portrayed on television. The media argues that all Twilight readers are infatuated with Edward Cullen, and buff hard body Jacob, yet most of the readers of the Twilight saga are not unhealthily obsessed with the characters or actors portraying them. Celebrity fixation has always been a part of teen culture, and hasn’t every generation had a teen heartthrob, do we remember, Elvis, Shawn Cassidy, The Beetles, New Kids of the Block? The New York Times review stated, "The premise of Twilight is attractive and compelling — who hasn't...

Vampire Eva (Tilda Swinton) – Adam’s loyal wife and friend, lives in Tangier, and loves little white iPhones and ice cream "blood on a stick". When Eve comes to Adam to Detroit, it seems nothing can disturb their meditative existence. Nothing except Eve’s sister – Ava (Mia Wasikowska) who brings chaos everywhere she goes. Following Twilight, the director of Only Lovers Left Alive (Jim Jarmusch) makes a film about love between two creatures of the night (and this is the only similarity, fortunately), but involves a problem of a higher order. Jarmusch allows the audience to observe zombies (the vampires word for humanity) through eyes of the beings that are much older than us. In his interview Jarmusch said: [Adam] is hurt by things he sees people do that he doesn’t understand or why does the world acts the way it does … Out of all of the potential operating systems we could have, why is it this one? It’s a system based on greed and power, manipulation, subjugation and colonialism, which obviously isn’t good. (Jarmusch, 2014, para....

...* ------------------------------------------------- Bella Swan has always been a little bit different. Never one to run with the crowd, Bella never cared about fitting in with the trendy, plastic girls at her Phoenix, Arizona high school. When her mother remarried and Bella chooses to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she didn't expect much of anything to change. But things do change when she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen. For Edward is nothing like any boy she's ever met. He's nothing like anyone she's ever met, period. He's intelligent and witty, and he seems to see straight into her soul. In no time at all, they are swept up in a passionate and decidedly unorthodox romance - unorthodox because Edward really isn't like the other boys. He can run faster than a mountain lion. He can stop a moving car with his bare hands. Oh, and he hasn't aged since 1918. Like all vampires, he's immortal. That's right - vampire. But he doesn't have fangs - that's just in the movies. And he doesn't drink human blood, though Edward and his family are unique among vampires in that lifestyle choice. To Edward, Bella is that thing he has waited 90 years for - a soul mate. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. Somehow or other, they will have to manage their unmanageable love. But when unexpected visitors come to town and realize...

...Critique of “(Un)safe Sex: Romancing the Vampire” In this article Backstein explains the important shift that occurred during the start of the Twilight Series and similar blood sucking tales. Furthermore today’s vampires are viewed as appealing and moral. The movies likewise portray vampires as having a feeling of discretion. They demonstrate the problems they face to defeat their allurements. Backstein also emphasizes the importance of female roles in these films. Her quality, remarkable abilities, being the object of affection, or a mix of every one of these attributes. She is the concentration of the story. Moreover, the film Twilight consists of the share of blood and savagery from multiple points of view but it also possesses a big deal of romance along with a paranormal curve. The strain, the otherworldly attributes, the danger Edward conveys add new vitality to the teen romance story. It likewise calls attention to the level of realism used, which also causes tension itself due to the supernatural qualities throughout the story....
