...I would recommend this theater but there are other theatres in the surrounding tri-county area which are cheaper. Fairmont has the Tygart Valley Cinema which has ticket prices of six dollars each for all shows. Their concession stand is cheaper as a bag of Twizzlers are only three dollars and fifty centers and they offer a larger variety of combination deals. One combo offered is a bag of candy, a bag of popcorn and two medium drinks for ten dollars. With the price differences noted, I checked out the Cinemark Theatre reviews online where I found different views. Some people were delighted with the movie and the concession. Another had a problem with stale popcorn. One couple had problems with the hearing impaired not working and were actually refunded and given tickets to use at another viewing of their choice. It was clear to me that Johnny was in the deictic stage of gesture development. Semantic Development Johnny is using gestures, jargon, protowords and has no problem with joint attention or eye contact. Johnny maintained eye contact with his mother and I. Especially when he wanted my attention. I saw examples of joint attention when Johnnys mother was playing with a toy and he would watch the toy as well. Johnny shows that he has an intention to talk to his mother. I saw this when he wanted twizzlers, his favorite candy, and he made this clear by using his jargon and reaching for the pack of twizzlers. I knew that it was a protoword because he was not using any words that sounded like “twizzler” and would consistently use the same phonemes to refer to the candy. Other examples of gestures were to show his dislikes. His mother tried to wipe his mouth after eating and he kept pushing her hands away. This showed that he did not have any desire to be wiped. He did not vocalize but was still obvious about his intentions with this gesture. The last gesture I saw Johnny make was when he waved “bye.” He understood that his mother was telling him to say goodbye or he was imitating her.
