Edit, Compile, Load, Verify and Execute We look over all the above mentioned phases in a bit detail. First consider the following figure that summarizes the all phases of a java program. Phase 1 Editor Disk Program is created in the editor and stored on disk. Compiler creates bytecodes and stores them on disk. Phase 2 Compiler Disk Primary Memory Phase 3 Class Loader Class loader puts bytecodes in memory. Disk Primary Memory Phase 4 Bytecode Verifier Bytecode verifier confirms that all bytecodes are valid and do not violate Java’s security restrictions. Phase 5 Primary Memory Interpreter Interpreter reads bytecodes and translates them into a language that the computer can understand, possibly storing data values as the program executes. Dan kesungguhan Ummu Sulaim memeluk agama Allah tidak hanya sampai di situ. Ia juga tanpa bosan berusaha melatih anaknya, Anas, yang masih kecil untuk mengucapkan dua kalimat syahadat. What was so compelling about the Starbucks value proposition? What brand image did Starbucks develop during this period? Starbucks initially used an aggressive generic strategy of focus to take advantage of this small portion of the overall coffee market and eventually transitioned into a strategy of differentiation. The first factor which aided their success was their first mover advantage. Starbucks’ aggressive expansion plan was more ambitious than any other specialty coffee retailer. In the first year of their expansion, fiscal year 1988, Starbucks more than doubled the 11 base stores they operated by opening 15 new stores in the Pacific Northwest. From there, they proceeded to open 20 stores in 1989, 30 stores in 1990, 32 stores in 1991 and 53 stores in 1992, for a total of 150 stores in a five-year period. In order to ensure a reputation for quality and customer service Starbucks, did not adopt franchising, instead maintaining company control of all new stores. ...ENG4U Modernizing Allusions in Shakespeare's “Hamlet” Umair Mohammad Mr. Scarrow Would most teenagers understand allusions written in the Elizabethan era, roughly four hundred and fifty years ago? The simple answer is probably not. The mundane lifestyle of the average modern teenager is not similar to that of a teenager that was born and raised during the Elizabethan era. Therefore, the text in many of the Shakespearian plays read in modern high schools should be updated to include modern versions of allusions. Furthermore, an act such as this would inhibit major benefits such as, students gaining a better understanding of the literature as a whole by being able to make connections due to the allusions. Transforming the allusions first made by Shakespeare in the Elizabethan era would not only be rather simple, but it would benefit teenagers. Many allusions created by Shakespeare in his play “Hamlet” can be recreated to suit the lifestyles and languages of modern teenagers. For example, “It out-Herods Herod. Pray you, avoid it.” (III, ii, 14) is an allusion referencing a very old biblical king that is very similar to Claudius from “Hamlet”. The majority of modern teenagers will not have any knowledge of this king, and thus a more modern allusion is in order. It could be done by researching a different person that can be compared to Claudius in this allusion. For instance, we could use Scar in Herod’s stead. This is because Scar is a character in “The Lion King”,...

Companies want to know why their employees are or are not satisfied. If they are not happy, executives look to the behavioral scientists for ways to improve individuals' attitudes and to suggest ways of improving the work environment. This implies that the theorists have to look well beyond the tangible factors influencing job satisfaction, such as pay, benefits, promotional opportunities, and working conditions. They have to study how groups influence the workplace and individuals' expectations. THE DYNAMICS OF GROUP BEHAVIOR Perhaps the most basic issue scholars have addressed in the area of group behavior is the definition of "group." They have agreed that there is no one definition. Therefore, they have looked...

...Assignment 1: Complexities of the U.S. Financial System Brandi Hays Professor Umair Warsi FIN100 February 1, 2015 The impact of the US financial markets on economy is quite high. This is because of all the major companies that are listed in the Stock Market contribute towards the economic growth of the country. When their performance deteriorates, their overall rating in the Stock Market suffers a downward trend. Thus, it produces a negative impact on the US economy. Though, in some cases, the dynamics of the Stock Market has its own issues and does not produces any impact on the economy. When the global financial crisis occurred in the USA in 2008, the overall Stock Market crashed which showed a negative trend of the economy. Therefore, these issues reflect the impact of US financial markets on economy. The impact of the US financial markets on the businesses is even there. When the overall position of the market is favorable, the businesses experience a positive impact. Though, this is not a usual case because some businesses flourish purely on the basis of their performance not on the basis of Stock Market position. When the US financial markets perform well, the individuals in an economy also have confidence in many aspects. They are not hesitant to spend money on the goods and are able to borrow money from the banks in order to have various types of expenditures. In some cases, the negative position of the US markets discourages the consumer to spend money...

With such a large theatre of potential job candidates on the market these days, human resource personnel have to ensure that they are reaching the most people possible while not breaking the organizations bank in pursuit of the perfect candidate. There are many ways a company can recruit employees now days, from word of mouth to specific career websites. The hunt for the right employee will be based off the position the organization is looking for. If an organization is looking for an entry level position with no education or experience a popular choice is the newspaper classifieds. This is a great option for companies, because it works and it costs the company very little to take up a small section on the Sunday classifieds. Many organizations will use this method when recruiting for regional non-skilled employees that they will not pay relocation for. ...

...Complexities of the U.S. Financial System Jami Christian Professor Umair Warsi Finance 100 May 4, 2013 The financial markets help to efficiently direct the flow of savings and investment in the economy in ways that facilitate the accumulation of capital and the production of goods and services. The combination of well developed financial markets and institutions, as well as a diverse array of financial products and instruments, suits the needs of borrowers and lenders and therefore the overall economy (Econ, 2005). The stock market is an economic indicator of how well the U.S. economy is doing. If investors are confident in the economy, they will buy stocks. Stocks are how companies get funded to grow larger. Usually, when someone wants to start a business, they pay for it with loans or even their own credit cards. Once they grow the company enough, they can get bank loans, or even float their own bonds to individual investors. Since the U.S. stock market is so sophisticated, it is easier in this country than in many others to take a company public. This helps the economy grow, since it provides a boost up to companies wishing to grow very large. The Federal Reserve is the nation’s central bank that works to keep the banking, financial, and payments system safe, sound and stable. It also provides financial services to the government and public. Finally, and very importantly, the Federal Reserve’s conduct of monetary policy contributes to the long run health of the...

...Supply Chain Management L.L Bean Inc October 27, 2011 Presented by: Ahsan Khawar Fahd Iqtidar Mir Nabeel Siraj Umair Babar Chishti 12020378 12020367 12020325 12020157 Q.1 L.L. Bean uses several different calculations in order to determine the number of units of a particular item it should stock, whether it is a new item or a never out item. It first freezes a forecast for its demand for the upcoming season. This figure is a result of a consensus between the product people, buyers and inventory managers. Once the predicted demand is frozen, L.L. Bean uses its historical demand and forecast data to analyze the forecasting errors. The forecast errors are calculated for each individual item and a frequency distribution of these is made, which is further used as a probability distribution for future errors. Thus, if 50% of the errors were within 0.7 and 1.6, the forecast for this year would be adjusted accordingly. Next, each item commitment quantity was tabulated using its individual contribution margin and salvage value if any. For e.g. if an item had a margin of $15 if sold, and $5 loss if not sold, the commitment value would be 0.75. Hence the optimal stock to keep would be 0.75 fractile of the probability distribution of demand. If for instance, the corresponding error for 0.75 is 1.3, the optimal stock to keep for that item would be 1.3 * frozen forecast. Hence, this value is the stock for that item. Q.2 We explain different scenarios to determine relevant costs...
