Sales have shifted from brick-and-mortar stores to online. The mortgage and/or rent on brink-and-mortar is a large fixed cost. As more sales are transferred from brick-and-mortar to online stores companies use of their fixed assets are not being fully utilized. Several brick-and-mortar have actually been closed due to the shift in buying. Many of the companies still own the closed brick-and-mortar and therefore have a large cost fixed asset cost on their books that they have no use for.
Opportunity:
One opportunity is change in consumer taste and buying habits. As consumer taste change Under Armour and the industry can create new products to meet consumer’s wants and needs. If we could accurately predict what they will want ahead of competitors, then we could possibly steal loyal customers from our competitors. Change in consumer taste could lead to creating a product that revolutionize the industry. As buying habit change, how the industry sells their products must change as well. Selling directly to buyer is a great opportunity to increase sells and cut overhead cost. One way to accomplish this is the creating more user friendly apps that make it quick and easy for customers to buy their favorites footwear, apparels, and accessories directly from the manufacture. …show more content…
