To understand who you are is extremely important if one wants to live life to the fullest and enjoy every moment. In reality, people struggle every day to uncover who they really are and for Ms. Price, this was no exception. Her life was not always stable which made her journey to discover herself extremely strenuous. Dolores Price, the main character in ‘She’s Come Undone’ by Wally Lamb, had many traumatic events that occurred during her life that persuaded her to discover who her inner self was as well as therapy and significant symbols that meant a lot to her through her journey. To begin with, Dolores Price had to overcome many traumatic and negative memorable events that life supplied her with. The thing that started it all was the miscarriage of her little brother Anthony and the separation of her mother and father. She, like a normal child caught in the middle of their parent’s separation, feels like the separation was her fault and that she could have prevented it. Another scarring event that she was forced to endure was being raped by her neighbour, Jack Speight, in eighth grade. Deterrence is the most common used argument for the death penalty. Many states believe that it is necessary to kill a prisoner to disadvise other people from committing the same kind of crime. Some people who commit violence are highly unstable or mentally ill. Murders are most committed in moments of passion, when extreme emotions overcomes himself or under the influence of drugs. In none of these cases can fear of the death penalty be expected to deter. Sometimes maybe a murderer or a rapist has a bad conscience due to his act. However, he can‘t make it undone. If he has a life-long sentence, he will always suffers for his felony. He must live with that and will never have the chance to apologise. In my opinion this punishment is a better way and in many cases it‘s much more striking. Their literature reflected free thinking, historical, philosophical, and religious influences of the time. William Shakespeare and Christopher Marlowe used Aristotelian tragedy, in which a great man is brought undone by a fatal flaw in his own character. In these types of tragedies the characters’ misfortune is brought upon by himself, not by vice. This was a concept portrayed 500 years ago yet rings true today. People are not flawless and most misfortunes are brought on by some error in judgment. Examples of characters with this tragic flaw include Marlowe’s Dr. Faustus and Shakespeare’s King Lear. Shakespeare’s ‘The Tragedy Of King Lear’ must be taken in context. Before the renaissance period the only form of drama was the occasional religious mystery play. The plays of the renaissance period drew away from the religious theme. As a result there was a huge expansion in the range of subjects that the authors wrote about. Thus the tragedy of the character coming undone by flaw not by evil, was seen in the plays. King Lear’s basic flaw is his test of his daughters superficial love over real love. But life is unpredictable, and while a man who functions well is a man who reasons well, if his life is cut short can it be said that he lived a complete and virtuous life? ...When I was little, the fantasy behind the main character’s dreams was beyond magical that it took my heart for all Disney movies and all their songs. One of the main themes the film Cinderella (1950) portrays is how the “Dreams come true.” However, when I watched Cinderella (1950) again, my attention was brought to this one scene of Cinderella at the grand ball (51:24-56:00). Disney put out a branched out theme of when the main character’s dreams come to face the reality. The scene starts with Cinderella dancing with her Prince Charming at the ball to a soft music that allows both sense of magic and elegance to step in. This diegetic music played by the orchestra at the ball goes well with Cinderella’s flowy dress as she smoothly slides across the fancy floor. In the music, the heavy bass played by Cello gives a palatial feeling. Also when the couple starts dancing, the spotlight is turned on them, which makes it seem like if Cinderella is dreaming which related to Disney’s theme “Dreams come true.” In the middle of the dance, some diegetic sound is added to the music when the scene switches over to the king and his doorman. In this quick shot, not only they have a quick dialogue but also a breaking noise of the doorman’s magnifying glasses. After dancing at the ball, Cinderella and Prince Charming gracefully dances out to the garden where they are by themselves. One major cause of anxiety is having too many tasks scheduled in a short period of time. If there is not a realistic amount of time set aside for things to get done, one could become nervous about the possibility of being late for the task that follows. These events could then lead to leaving tasks undone, which would cause more anxiety in the process of catching up. Another cause of anxiety is the lack of proper preparation for tasks. For example, people who only study the day before a test will, more than likely, experience anxiety. The fear of not being prepared for the test will cause the person to feel anxiety. With this being stated, anxiety can decrease when there is more time to gain the confidence of being prepared for upcoming tasks. The last cause of anxiety that will be mentioned is the tendency to look too deeply into a problem that has a simple solution.
