In 1926, the Uniform Vehicle Code recommended that states adopt a minimum driving age of 16. One of the supporting arguments for this age was to implement a sense of accountability in teenagers. Another aspect to consider is that when this age was suggested in 1926, the world we lived in was much different. There was a lot more responsibility given to family members with the expectation of help. The lack of technology, delivery services, and ease of ordering items from across the country were nonexistent. Technology has created a life of luxury in some cultures, satisfying the instant gratification people have grown accustomed to.
